Chapter 8: He Almost Found Out.

*Later that day*

"You're late." Harry said as soon as I walked in front of the diner. He locked the door, placed his bag on his back, and played with the key in his hand.

"I'm sorry, something came up." I breathed out, exhausted from running so fast.

More like sleep. I told myself I was going to take a quick nap after art class but ended up sleeping for five or so hours.

"Zayn, I told you to come here after art aka around 3. It's 8 now, I'm closing." He frowned.

"Like I said, something came up."

He crossed his arms. "Yeah? What came up?"

I huffed. "I fell asleep."

He glared at me. "Seriously? Wow just wow. Why even agree to help me if you're taking this as a joke?"

"Because it is." I barked. "Niall is straighter than a ruler. You look stupid doing this. Maybe I don't want to make a joke out of myself for something that's not even worth it!"

Harry looked completely dumbfounded. "...Then why'd you come? If this is so stupid to you, why even show up here?" He mumbled.

I bit my lip, not knowing how to answer that. Why am I here? "I-I don't know."

Harry pinched the bridge of his nose. "This back and forth really needs to stop. Do you hate me or something? One minute you're decent the next you seem annoyed with me."

"Obviously! You want me to fake date you to get the attention of a straight guy. The same straight guy that has a girlfriend. What does that say about you Harry?"

He blinked rapidly then scowled at me. "Fuck you."

I snorted. "Fine, fuck you too."

He crossed his arms. "Fuck you three times."

"Fuck you four." I combatted.

He growled. "Fuck you ten!"

"Fuck you to infinity and beyond!" I replied.

Harry groaned and put his hands up. "This is what I'm talking about with the arguing!"

I rolled my eyes. "I don't know why I agreed to help you in the first place. I don't want to anymore."

He glared at me and clenched his fist. "We had a deal."

I crossed my arms. "Deal? I don't give a fuck! Have you ever thought about how I'd feel about fake dating you? What if I want a real boyfriend?"

He stuttered. "I-I fuck. I'm sorry." He let out a deep sigh. "I'm so pathetic."

I hummed. "Truly. I don't even know what I saw or still see in you. I guess we're both pathetic." I blurted out.
