NEVE's only chance at survival was to join gang of boys who really only saw her as a burden. When the Flare swept the Earth, she was left with nothing. Her mother crumbled within her own body, from the inside out. Her mother fell into the depths of insanity, remembering nothing of her daughter but the smell of her flesh. Neve had to deal with the horrible truth. Desperation never ends well. When things felt hopeless, she found the gang. As brutal as they were, Neve knew the power of strength in numbers. As time went on, she realized just how little she really needed them, and decided to search for life beyond their stupid schemes.

She travelled to a place near the city, and found herself sucked in to another group, this time the group was smarter. She never had the resources to worry about more than just her own survival, but as she gets closer to the city, she realizes that this was never about her. That there was so much more at play. She joins a group of unlikely teenagers and decides that the real problem is inside WCKD's walls.
