chapter 26: smoke and mirrors

Chapter 26: smoke and mirrors

Once Stiles managed to calm Aylee down he decided to drive her home so that they could tell Melissa and Kira's parents together what had happened to their children as well as their vague plan to recuse them. After Kira's parents left Aylee decided to head up to her room where she turned out all the lights and began to lit all the candles she could find, she thought that maybe the lack of light might help force a vision. She threw her bag, hat and hoodie on to the bed before putting on her glasses and throwing her up into a messy ponytail then sat as still as she could on the floor and began to focus on Scott and Kira so that she could get vision of them When Stiles finally caught up with her after talking with Melissa he knew something was wrong since her face showed signs of distress and pain so he turned the night on and ran to her.

"Ay...Aylee stop... Aylee stop this, please wake up... come on!"he said shaking her by the shoulders, his worry only grew when he realised that she was bleeding from the noise

" Stiles what's going on? is she okay?" Melissa said standing by the door to with the Sheriff see what all the commotion was, she desperately hoped that at least one of children was okay

" she would be if she would just get out of this stupid trance that she's got her self, i need to break her focus somehow" he said looking around for something to use that would create a big enough of a reaction to break her focus

" i have an idea" the Sheriff said pulling out his gun and prepared to shoot so he carefully aimed at the patch of grass outside of Aylee's window, the bang shocked everyone in the room including Aylee

"woah what happened? what did you do? i ne... i need to go back" aylee said frantically trying to lit the candles that had blown out from the wind coming in through the open window

"hey no stop ok? you're not going back, I'm not going to let you. Look at yourself, Ay you're bleeding and who knows what could happen to yourself if you go any deeper" he said stopping her from lighting anymore candle, he knew he was being harsh but he was just trying to keep her safe

" but i saw them Stiles... or i felt them, either way i was about to make a proper connection with them" she said as the tears began to silent fall down her cheek as Stiles gently cupped her face with his hands

"i get that you want to help them so do i but i am not letting you hurt yourself to do it, neither would Scott if he was here" he said trying to convince her that he was only trying to help

" here hold this to your nose and face downwards when the bleeding stops I'll check you out ok? do you want to tell us what you saw or felt?" Melissa said handing her some tissues from her bathroom and crouched down beside her to make sure she was okay

" i got a couple of flashes like Kira laying on a floor that was covered in bones and Kate talking to Scott who was chained to a table then all i felt was a searing white hot pain in my head and everything went dark" she said knowing that they were assuming the same thing as Aylee, that she was experiencing Kira or Scott's pain

" that must've caused the bleeding because it wasn't your pain but your body still felt it and the pain overwhelmed you and....created an actually wound" Stiles said focusing on Aylee than what she had seen since it was a mystery he couldn't solve yet

" or I'm not strong enough... i couldn't do it, i couldn't find anything more concrete to tell us where they are" she said still feeling the urge to pull herself back into the trance to gain more answers
