Hailee's POV
It was normal day for me, my mom came in and woke me up. Then my stepdad came in to make sure that I was 'awake,' meaning my feet were on the floor and I wasn't sitting on my bed letting my eyes get used to the light. Well, today I was slacking. He came in and saw me wrapped in my covers cause I was cold, and it made him upset. He cursed me out, told me I was not ever going to succeed in life. I was used to it. But there was something new he said,
"No wonder you never bring a boy home, nobody will never want a girl like you anyways!"
I gotta admit that one hurts, this is when I hate myself and I feel all my insecurities begin to cloud me. I take my time to cry in my room, but have to do it while getting ready. I always try to hide it from my mother to not cause arguments between him and her. Sometimes I don't succeed, but today I do. I hear my phone ringing and I go to answer it. I pick up the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hey Blondie."
Blondie was the nickname Ferris gave me the first day he met me cause he didn't know my name. It just kind of stuck ever since then.
"What do you want Bueller?"
"What do you mean what do I want? I want to tell you that I'm taking another day off, and you, Sloane, and Cameron are coming."
"I'm sorry Ferris but I can't."
"Why not?"
"Reasons."
"What reasons?"
"I-"
I had to hurry and think of an excuse before he caught on to something.
"Come Hailee, it'll be fun. Did I mention Cameron was going to be there?"
"Fine, but come up with an excuse to get me out of school."
"Oh trust me, I'm coming up with that plan right now."
"Okay, talk to you later Bueller."
"Bye Blondie."
I hang up and jump when my dad starts questioning me,
"Who was that?"
"One of my friends."
"Sounded like a guy."
"He has a girlfriend. You know Sloane Peterson?"
"Oh."
That's when I went to my room to wait for my mom to drive me to school.
Ferris's POV
After I called Cameron and got him out of bed and to come to my house and skip school, I convinced him to pretend to be Mr. Peterson to get the girls out of class. He was on the phone while I was getting ready for our day. Then, I picked up the phone in my room and dialed the school phone.
Cameron's POV
I was on the phone with the man that could squash my nuts into oblivion. I was on the phone with Rooney,
"Hey dipshit, if you don't like my policies kiss my big white butt. Pucker up, buttercup."
Then he put me on hold and was talking to someone else. When, he took me off hold he was oddly quiet.
"I- I-I...I think I owe you an apology."
"Well I should say you do! We have just had a death in the family and you insult me, what the hell is the matter with you anyway?"
"I'm so sorry Mr. Peterson. I thought I was talking to someone else."
"Pardon my French, but your an asshole! Asshole!"
"Yes you hit the nail on the head."
"Call me sir god damn it!"
"Yes, yes, yessir!"
"Listen Buster, you just and mind your business, cause you don't know who your dealing with here."
About that time Ferris walked in,
"Bueller, Ferris Bueller!"
Cameron was making a square grin, acting excited.
"Alright now I'm kind of worried cause what if he recognizes my voice?"
"He won't you're doing perfect."
Cameron continued the phone call until he freaked Ferris out.
"I'm gonna make this short and sweet, I want my daughter and her friend out in front of the school by their selves. I want no one-"
Then Ferris hit Cameron and made him drop the phone. Cameron looked at him.
"That sounds too suspicious, cover it."
Cameron holds out the phone,
"You,"
"No,"
"You,"
"No,"
"Come on,"
"No, you do it."
Cameron stuck the phone to his ear,
"Ughhhh, Rooney! I want the girls out there with you beside them I want to have a little chat with you!"
Then hat freaked Ferris out even more. The phone was knocked out of Cameron's hand again.
"Never mind, we don't have to talk, maybe some other time over lunch."
And with that he hung up.
Ferris kicked him in the butt, which hurt Cameron's feelings and lead to an argument between the two.
Hailee's POV
We were in some class, honestly it was so boring I forgot what it was. Suddenly the door opened, and the nurse came in.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I need to talk to you."
The teacher and her talked while me and Sloane gathered our stuff,
"Sloane and Hailee, can you come out here to talk."
We followed her out to the hall,
"I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but Sloane your grandma died."
Sloane was letting some fake tears release, and hugged the nurse. I joined in too. She escorted us to the front steps where we waited with Principal Rooney. While we was waiting Sloane carries out a conversation with him while I popped in my earbuds, and turned on my tapes. I seen a school bus pass by and there sat the red Ferrari that had not been driven since it was fixed up by Mr. Frye. I stuck my shades on and walked down the stairs. I walked past Ferris and cracked a small smile.
"Oh my god, Bueller your lucky you ain't caught."
I said in a low voice.
"Shut up Blondie, and careful getting in the back. Cameron is back there."
I threw my back pack in the floorboard and was careful like Ferris said. But me being me, I was clumsy getting in so I tripped and grabbed Cameron's knee, making a storm of butterflies swarm in my stomach.
"Sorry."
I sat next to the hiding Cameron and fiddled my thumbs.
"Are you okay Cameron? Did I hurt you?"
"No, you didn't  hurt me I'm alright."
Then the most grossest thing happened.
"Do you have a kiss for Daddy?"
Of course, Ferris Bueller would be the one to ask that question. They wound up kissing for little too long.
I pretended to search through my bag really I was trying not to vomit. Cameron chuckled at me and started tickling me. Before me or Cameron realized it  Sloane and Ferris were in the car. Sloane started talking,
"Hey Cameron, you comfortable back there?"
"Hi Sloane. No.
Ferris sped off down the road, and Cameron crawled out of his hiding space. His hand accidentally touched mine, which caused me to pull it away, causing a slight blush to appear on my face. I noticed one on his too, but brushed it off. Cameron Frye would never date me, we're best friends.
