Hailee's POV
Ferris, Sloane, and I were in the hot tub, while Cameron was sitting on a chair on the diving board.
"Felling any better Cameron?"
Ferris munched on his Oreo, so Sloane tried.
"Cam, why don't you come in here, it's really nice."
He just kept staring at whatever, so I decided I'd give it my shot.
"Cameron, I can flip out real easy too! It's okay! Sooner or later everybody goes to the zoo!"
He then looked down at the water. Ferris looked over at me and Sloane.
"Maybe he's really sick,
Before turning back to him.
"Maybe he isn't just torturing himself."
Cameron then proceeded to flip off the chair in to the pool. Ferris and Sloane turned towards each other, while I watched him sink deeper and deeper into the pool, air bubbles rising to the surface. He stayed down there and looked up at us. Ferris got out of the hot tub and looked to see if he was coming up, once he wasn't Ferris dived in after him. Me and Sloane moved to the other side of the pool and wait for Ferris to bring Cameron up. As Ferris surfaced we held out our hands to help him bring Cameron to the side. Once Ferris sat him on the ledge me and Sloane watched Cameron. Ferris was trying to get him to wake up.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey Cameron!"
He started lightly slapping his face.
"Cam! Cameron! Wake up! Come on, wake up! Hey!"
He turned to Sloane.
"Cameron! Come on! Cameron!"
Sloane watched Ferris with sad eyes, while I was on the verge of crying.
"Come on! Wake up! Hey!"
Cameron opened his eyes and smiled, looking towards Ferris.
"What is that?"
"Ferris Bueller, you're my hero!"
Cam said in a nerdy voice. Sloane rolled her eyes, while I smiled but could've punched him in the nose on the spot.
"You're kidding?! Oh!"
"Wow! That was pretty impressive man!"
"Oh! You bitch! You son of a bitch!"
Ferris then started to push Cameron, while Cameron laughed and smiled, blocking his shoves. Ferris pushed Cameron underwater, while me and Sloane started laughing.
Ferris turned to Sloane.
"Come on then!"
He pushed her in the water as well. I laughed at them both, when all of a sudden I felt a pull on my legs. Cameron pulled me underwater, I came up for air, choking and coughing, then laughing. Cameron jumped off the ledge yelling,
"Sheena!"
Then Ferris jumped in after.
~Time skip~
After we got out of the pool, we headed to Cameron's house to return his dad's car. They backed it in and put it on the jack, leaving the car in reverse. We all sat down beside the garage, and talked.
"You know, that whole time I was just thinking things over."
He grabbed my hand, and I squeezed it.
"I was like...I was like meditating."
He stayed quiet for a moment, looking down at his feet.
"Then, I sorta watched myself from inside; and I realized it was ridiculous, being afraid, worrying about everything, wishing I was dead, all that shit I'm tired of it."
He looked at us and nodded his head.
"It was the best day of my life."
He said, before looking back down.
"I'm gonna miss you guys next year."
He turned back to look at us, Ferris looked at him, Sloane was staring down at her feet, while I was looking in his eyes. I nudged Sloane and she spoke up.
"Cameron? Can I ask you a question?"
"Yeah."
"Did you see us change out of our clothes by the jacuzzi?"
His lips started turning upwards into a smirk and he started blushing.
"Did you? You saw us? I thought you were catatonic."
"You cheeky little devil!"
His smile then turned into a square grin, with some nervous chuckles. So Sloane added,
"That's okay, I'm not embarrassed."
Meanwhile, I was blushing up a storm, and was kinda embarrassed. I get picked on a lot and called fat. Which doesn't really help my self-esteem. Cameron let go of my hand.
"I better go check on the car."
He walked into the garage leaving me to third wheel with Ferris and Sloane. They started looking at each other with loving and adoring eyes, causing me to remember I'm not in a relationship. I started feeling a little insecure, so I turned on my music and popped one of my earbuds in. All of a sudden Cameron shouted,
"Hey Ferris!"
Ferris got up walking towards the garage. I took my earbud out and paused my music.
"Yeah?"
Me and Sloane followed after him.
"The miles aren't coming off. The miles aren't coming off going in reverse."
Ferris checked the odometer.
"Huh!"
He then looked at Cameron, who was on the other side with his hands in his back pockets.
"Well, I thought that might be a problem. We'll just have to crack open the odometer and roll it back by hand."
Cameron shook his head.
"No, forget it!"
He looked up at Ferris.
"Forget it!"
They was staring back and forth between themselves and the car.
"I gotta take a stand."
Cameron looked down with tears in his eyes, and we all just looked at him with sorrow.
"I put up with everything! My old man pushes me around! I never say anything!"
He started beating his chest, causing me to jump. I started backing up a little closer to Ferris.
"Well he's not the problem, I'm the problem."
He put his hands on the car, like he was trying to calm down. He wiped his eyes against his shirt and just stared at the hood, shaking his head.
"I gotta take a stand. I gotta take a stand against him. I am not gonna sit on my ass as the events that affect me unfold to determine the course of my life! I'm gonna take a stand!"
We all stared at him. I had tears in my eyes, but I was proud of what he was doing.
"I'm gonna defend it. Right or wrong, I'm gonna defend it!"
He wiped his hands on his pants and looked at the car. All of sudden I watched his face twist with rage, and he kicks the car. I started walking to him but Ferris caught my arm. I jumped a half mile, and watched as he kicked it over and over.
"I can't stand him, and I hate this damn car! Who do you love? Who do you love? You love a car! You son of a bitch!"
I turned as he kept kicking it. I turned my head back to make sure he didn't hurt himself though. He went in for another kick, but decided it was enough and stopped. He turned around and waved his hand in the air, as if saying it wasn't worth his time. He stuck his hands in his back pockets, before pulling his suspenders up, inspecting the damage. He started laughing, before looking our way, throwing his hand up.
"Shit! I dented the shit out of it!"
He looked back down at it.
"Good! My father will come home he'll see what I did, I can't hide this!"
He said eyeing me, before looking back down.
"He'll come home, he'll see what I did, he'll have to deal with it! I don't care, I really don't! I'm just tired of being afraid!"
He kept staring at it, like he couldn't process it.
"Hell with him! I can't wait to see the look on the bastard's face!" He put his foot up in the car, and leaned on it. The jack gave out and the car hit the floor in reverse. Cameron fell down and watched the car leave.
*CRASH*
The car busted through the window and flew through the trees, landing on the ground with a crash. I turned to Cameron and started walking towards him. He just stared at the broken window. Ferris and Sloane stared out it too, before Ferris turned and looked at Cameron. They both approached the window and looked out. Cameron got up and grabbed my arm.
"What'd I do?"
Ferris and Sloane turned to him with a serious look. "What'd I do?"
"You killed the car."
We started walking towards the busted window with a cautious look. Ferris and Sloane turned to us. I was feeling kinda sick, and I probably lost all color to my face. Me and Cameron looked down at the car. Cameron grabbed the side of the window and kicked a piece of glass, causing me to turn and look at him.
"Woah! Holy Shit!"
He ran his fingers up his hair, and his expression grew wide. He turned around, letting go of me, and looked at his hand scratching the back of his head. Ferris was the first to speak.
"Cameron, it's my fault! I'll take the heat for it! We'll wait for your father to come home and when he gets here I'll tell him that I did it! He hates me anyway!"
Cameron's expressions were changing, until it looked like he had an idea.
"No! I'll take it!"
Ferris shook his head.
"No! I'll take it!"
"No! You don't want this much heat!"
"I want it! If I didn't want it, I wouldn't have let you take the car out this morning!"
"I made you take the car this morning!"
Cameron was still thinking.
"I could've stopped ya!"
Ferris gave him the 'really' look.
"It is possible to stop Mr. Ferris Bueller ya know! No! I want it, I'm gonna take it! When Morris comes home, he and I'll just have a little chat!"
He said with a cute, dorky smile. Me and Sloane started smiling and I walked over beside him.
"It's cool. No, it's gonna be good! Thanks anyway!"
Ferris and Sloane were smiling, while I was trying not to blush.
