Cameron's POV
We piled in the cab somehow without Mr. Bueller noticing. Hailee was right beside me listening to her music. We made it to our next stop, it was Wrigley Field. It was the Bears playing against  the Cubs. The batter hit the ball into the stands and it landed into Ferris's hand.
"I think I broke my thumb."
I started a chant.
"Hey, batter batter batter batter, swing batter! Come on!"
I nudged Ferris and we both started the chant with me finishing the whole thing.
"Hey, batta, batta, batta, batta, swing batta! He cannot, he cannot, he cannot, he cannot, swing batta!"
Hailee's beautiful, contagious laugh erupted as she laughed at my silliness. So, I decided to mess with her a bit and poke her side. She wiggles around, starting poking me back.
Hailee's POV
He was poking my side, tickling me, causing me to wiggle around. I wasn't going to let him get away with it, so I poked him back. It turned into a tickling war, lasting a few minutes before Ferris caught Cameron's attention. He went to the concession stand and got some chips, before sitting back down beside me. I stole one and all he did was stare at me as if I just murdered someone.
"What?"
"That was my chip, and you didn't ask!"
"Oh I'm sorry, may I have a chip?"
"You can have the one you already ate!"
I laughed at him, and he just shook his head and smiled, turning his attention back to the game. Ferris tapped his shoulder.
"Hey Cameron, do you realize if we played by the rules right now we'd be in gym?"
They both laughed at each other, while Sloane looked like she was ready to go. I turned my attention back to the game. We waited until the game finished, and then we left for our next stop. Our next stop was the Art Institute of Chicago. We snuck in with this group of kids on a field trip. We hopped in line holding the kid's hands and following where they was going. We eventually split up from the kids, looking around the museum. We looked around at different pieces of art from different angles. Sometimes lining up in a slanted line, or looking at different pieces on a horizontal line. Eventually we all split up, Ferris and Sloane ran off somewhere secret, Cameron went off somewhere, while I was left behind still studying a piece of work. I looked around trying to find them but failing. I eventually started walking around, when I came upon this big piece of art. Cameron was sitting there looking at it lost in thought. I didn't want to disrupt him, so I walked up behind him quietly.
Cameron's POV
I was looking at the mother and the little girl, looking in the little girl's eyes. What was once a masterpiece became blots of paint and color, breaking down into an unstable base. I started seeing myself and how I related to the painting. I was so focused on the painting I didn't hear Hailee come up behind me.
"Beautiful, isn't it?"
"I guess, yeah."
"Are you okay?"
"No, but it'll be alright."
"Okay."
I was so in love with this girl, but I don't think she will ever notice me.
"You guys scared me. I was still studying that painting when you guys left and then I notice you guys are gone."
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay, I just got a little scared and lonely."
I grabbed her hand and squeezed it to reassure her I was here.
"Come one lets go find Bueller and Peterson."
"Hang on."
Hailee's POV
I started studying the painting. It reminded me of when I was a little girl and it was just me and my mother. We was living with my grandparents, thinking about it brought tears to my eyes. A few escaped, but I didn't really care. Cameron was squeezing my hand, looking back and forth between me and the painting.
"Hailee? Is everything alright?"
"No, but I don't want to talk about it right now."
"Okay."
He wrapped his arms around me and gave me a bear hug, his chin resting against my head. About this time Ferris and Sloane rounded the corner, making us jump apart.
"Hey you guys ready to go?"
"Yeah."
"Sure."
We walked out of the institute and hopped in a cab. There was a parade going on, causing a traffic jam. While waiting Ferris kisses Sloane, Cameron was looking around, and I was listening to music. I took my earbuds out and Cameron broke the silence.
"It's getting late buddy, we better go get the car back home."
"What-What do you mean? We still have a few hours, we have until six!"
"I'm sorry, I mean I know you don't care, but it does mean my ass!"
"You think I don't care?"
"I know you don't care."
Ferris feigned shock.
"Oh, that hurts Cameron!"
Cameron looked at him and then looked down.
"Cameron what have you seen today?"
"Nothing good."
"Nothing...ha...ha- This? What do you mean nothing good? We've seen the whole city! We went to the museum, seen priceless works of art, ate pancreas..."
Cameron started making a face and was making movements with his eyes.
"Saw- What? What's wrong?"
Cameron kept his face on, so Ferris made one back.
"Look over there?"
Cameron said without moving his mouth. Sloane and me turned and looked, then Ferris turned and looked. It was Mr. Bueller, and he turned and looked at us, then turned back to the paper. Cameron and Ferris hurried in the floor leaving me and Sloane. We put our shades on before he looked back at us and stared. Cameron and Ferris was rubbing my lucky rabbit foot, while we was looking ahead nonchalantly. He turned to look at us, while I stuck in my ear buds, and Sloane turned to him. She mouthed 'hi' to him and made a kissy face at him. His eyes went wide, and kind of smiled. Ferris asked Sloane,
"What's he doing?"
"He's licking the glass and making obscene gestures with his hands."
"What?"
Sloane and me started laughing. The boys caught on and Ferris started tickling Sloane. Cameron looked at me before doing the same thing. Our hair went flying, my ear buds fell out, and Mr. Bueller gave us a crazy look.
