The Scandal (Under Edit)

CHAPTER 14

Next day I woke up all refreshed and relaxed.

The weather was also nice today and since I had to show up at work a little later as it was a weekend, I decided to go for a run outside.

Donning my running clothes, I came out for a drink and found that Bri was still sleeping. So I quietly went out.

The night scene of LA always awes me but the morning isn't anything less. Lots of morning runners are out everywhere. The roads are not empty yet they aren't too busy. Small shops and bakeries are opening their business.

Passing by a particular shop, the heavenly smell of freshly baked goods hit me so hard that my feet automatically took me inside.

The bakery shop looked so cozy. It had the vintage charm to it and had cute plants all around. An old lady was setting up the shop for the business. The shop was almost empty except for a girl like me who was sitting at a table sipping coffee I guess.

I walked towards the old lady and when she noticed me, she welcomed me with a kind smile.

"Good morning dear! I'm Mandy and I run this place. What would you like to have?"

Deciding to get some breakfast, I ordered some pancakes, croissants, bacon and eggs, a turmeric latte for Brie and a carrot smoothie for me.

Sitting in one of the spots waiting for my order to get done, while checking my msgs I saw one from Ashton.

"Good morning! We have a meeting after lunch today around 2. It's about the final things for the album so the whole team will be there."

"Okay noted, anything specific you want me to do for the meeting?", I asked him

"Yes!!!! There is something VERY important", he replied

I see him typing a msg again so I wait.

"Do not attend the meeting if", he sends again

I thought there is something serious indeed so I wait for him to finish.

"You haven't had your lunch. Come only after having a full lunch. *a pregnant lady emoji*"

Seeing his msg I burst into a light chuckle.

Right when I was about to compose a reply to his msg, Mandy called for me to collect my order. So I just sent him a wagging dog gif with a yes sir and go collect my food.

After paying and thanking Mandy I walk back to my apartment.

Brie was already awake by then and was brushing her teeth and when she saw me entering with the bags of food. She smiled and right when she was about to ask me about it, I told her I would set the table for breakfast.

After I was almost done setting, she came in after brushing her teeth and washing her face but still in her pajamas. 

"Thanks Rey! I was just wondering what to do for breakfast", she said.

"Oh, that's fine. I found this place on my way back right down the road and I just couldn't help but check it and everything looked so good", I told her while we were sitting and having breakfast.

"What are your plans for today? I am free so James made plans for dinner tonight", she informed me.

"I have to be at work around the noon today and there's a meeting so I am not sure when I get off", I told her taking a sip of my smoothie.

"Oh, I thought you must have an off today since it is Saturday and John made reservations for us at this fancy place whose name I don't know", she said sadly.
