When my eyes opened it was morning. Wiping my mouth using my hands, I woke up and stretched myself. Yawning I looked around and noticed my mobile right next to my pillow. Slowly I remembered that I was speaking to Ashton last night and was feeling so sleepy that I don't even remember when I hung up on him and fell asleep.

I picked up my phone to check the time and it was around 10:30. Wow, I really slept well.

There were messages from Ashton. Guess they were from last night when I hung up on him.  I read it from outside without opening it and it said,

"Good night drooly head"

I only drooled a little when I have a very good and relaxed sleep but he doesn't have to know. So to give him a piece of mind, I went on full force opening the chat only to see there was a picture sent by him.

I gasped in shock.

It was a picture of me sleeping. More like a screenshot from last night's video call. My eyes were closed and mouth was slightly open. There was indeed a little drool visible near my mouth from the phone screen's light glow.

Then the realisation hit me that I must have slept while holding the phone during the video call with him. I don't know how long he watched me sleep. The thought made my heart skip a beat. I was saved from breaking my head to compose a reply by the knock on the door.

"What's up Brie? Come in", I got up from the bed putting my phone aside and made my bed.

She came in and said, "Breakfast is ready and I thought I'll wake you up since you've been sleeping for a long time. Last night I came late but you were asleep by then."

"Yeah the meeting was really boring. It went on and on for hours"; I replied, both of us now seated on the dining table.

There were eggs, something she made from potatoes and fruits.

"I actually wanted to tell you something over the dinner if you would have made it yesterday", she started.

"What is it?", my assumption was it was something good because there was this happy gleam in her eyes.

"Before my dad's death I was planning on doing psychology but had to drop the plan and instead opted for nursing because of the financial problems", she said.

I didn't interrupt her and just gave her an encouraging nod.

"So the past few years while working, I took online and night classes to study psychology and I feel proud to say that I finally completed my degree. Now I don't work as a nurse anymore, instead starting tomorrow I'll be interning with a doctor", she finished telling with a big grin on her face.

I immediately got up and jumped on her giving her a big hug. Honestly I was proud of her. At 26 years old, being 3 years elder to me, she has become a very close friend to me. Even though I haven't been with her long but she is the sweetest and most hardworking person I have ever met.

"This calls for a celebration. I am up for whatever you want to do", I tell her happily.

She hesitates before telling, "Actually.... I have  something important to do tonight. And also I was thinking to liven up our living room. It looks so plain and boring. I have neglected doing any changes due to the less money I was making but now it seems like the perfect time to spice it up. What say?"

This place does look boring and old but here is the most at home I have felt. It feels so warm and comfortable here.

"I am up for it", I reply.

Both of us spent our morning till noon checking out different vintage shops, thrift shops, and little stores.

At a particular vintage store something that was not related to our today's spree caught my eye. It looked a little expensive but still I wanted to buy it. While Brie was away looking for things on the other side, I quickly went to the front and slipped it in my bag after ringing it up.
