The Scandal (Under Edit)

CHAPTER 38

The next morning, I woke up earlier than the others.

Went back to my room, tidied everything up, and then got ready before we start leaving.

The weather was gloomy and it looked like it might rain as the scent of petrichor was thick in air. 

So I decided to take a walk around before it's time for breakfast. Taking a deep breath I filled in my lungs with the cool, fresh air. 

The others had woken up too by the time I passed last night's campsite.

I clicked a couple of pictures and then decided to go back for breakfast.

Ashton was already seated with his group but as soon as I entered his eyes met mine and he winked at me.

Suddenly last night's events came back at me and I immediately blushed away.

Noah waved at me catching my attention so I went to him after grabbing my breakfast tray.

"Did you sleep well last night?", I asked him taking a seat next to Noah.

"Like a baby but I could use some more sleep, I'm still feeling hungover. What about you?, he spoke in a groggy voice.

"I slept well too, in fact I just came back from a walk so feeling much better"

"Last night was so wild, and goddamn what were those moves Aubrey? You were so hot, respectfully", he spoke in a little louder tone.

"Right back at you Mr. Rapmachine", I quickly diverted the topic back at him.

Thankfully, everyone had their own antique to discuss so subject kept moving quickly until it landed back to work and things to do.

After breakfast, everyone brought their luggage and started loading on the bus like usual according to their crews.

The private plane group sat together in one bus and we all headed towards the airport only making a quick stop for a break.

Looks like no one slept properly last night, so everyone were catching up on sleep in the bus.

Even Ashton had fallen asleep, he looked so cute. I quickly took a snap from where I sat.

It had started to drizzle and the soft pitter-patter of the rain against the glass window was so relaxing to watch.

It was afternoon by the time we reached the airport and boarded our flight.

Everybody quietly ate the lunch served on the plane mentally preparing themselves for the work that is to come once we reach. 

People who had already slept on the bus seemed quiet active. The guys were all playing video games.

I watched movies for a while trying to keep myself awake to adjust later to the LA time but ended up falling asleep anyway.

When I woke up again, the plane was dark and everyone else was sleeping too.

It took me a while but I realised someone had covered me in blanket when I was sleeping.

I checked my phone and looks like I hadn't slept much, we still had 7 hours of travel left.

There was a message from Ashton as well, it was a funny picture of me sleeping with my mouth slackened. He had also written that I had missed it when they were serving dinner but since I looked too cute to be woken he didn't disturb me.

Anytime I wake up, I can ask one of the stewardess for dinner and they would help me out.

Right on cue, my stomach grumbled too, so I decided to have dinner.

Since the main area was empty, I decided to move out of my seat and have my dinner there while watching something on the TV.

I was in the middle of watching the Hangover, when Ashton joined with a bowl of popcorn.

"Slept well sleepyhead?", he asked

"Umm hmm", I hummed.

We didn't talk much just enjoying the movie and laughing while in-between I was feeding him a little from my dinner.

After a while; Noah, Mario and the other guys also woke up and joined us with some snacks so that's how our rest of the flight went, eating and having a movie marathon.

Due to bad weather, our flight was slightly delayed so by the time we landed it was 8 in the night.

Unlike the guys, who had taken enough naps in the bus and flight, I was beat.

I just couldn't wait to go crash on my bed.

When we were all grabbing our luggage instead of helping Ashton with his luggage, Mike came and carried mine.

"Aubrey you look like a corpse, come with me I'll drop you home", Noah offered sweetly.

But before I could answer, "That's alright Noah, Mike will drop her. You should go take some rest too", answered Ashton.

Noah wished me good night and went his way so did the others as well.

I started walking with Mike towards his SUV thinking Ashton will leave on his own but he followed me once everyone left.

He opened the doors for me and I settled in while Mike and him also got in after which our ride started.

I didn't know how long the time had passed but feeling a gentle shake I woke up only to realise I had fallen asleep on Ashton.

He tenderly kissed the top of my head and announced that we have reached.

Mike grabbed my luggage and escorted me to my apartment after which he left, wishing me a good night.

Brianna was having dinner when I entered, she greeted me happily with a hug but seeing how zombie-ish I was, she ruffled my hair telling me to get changed and sleep while she grabbed my bags and brought them to my room.

Skipping shower, I quickly changed into my night gown and launched myself on the bed exhaling a breathe of relief that turned into steady breathes as I lost myself in the dreamland.
