Jack couldn’t describe his feeling at the moment. To have been searching for your son for years .. missing him and worrying about his well being .. and to see him finally standing right in front of you  after all those painful years . He didn’t know how to feel.

He could hear the soft cries of his son. It was in the middle of the night and he didn’t want Elsa to exhaust herself anymore. Being the good husband he is , Jack voluntarily went to the cradle located next to their bed .

“ Hey, little guy ..” said Jack as he gently take baby Eren in his arm rocking him back and forth “ are you hungry ?” asked Jack but he was answered by a soft giggle of his little son

“ hmm..I guess you’re not hungry” grinned Jack as the boy cooed in his baby words .

“ you’re one cheeky little one aren’t you ?” said Jack as he nip Eren little button nose which causes him to squealed happily as he hold one of Jack fingers and play with it

Jack smile at Eren as the baby giggled at almost everything he did throughout the night .

 Jack remembered . Eren was always filled with happiness . He will giggle at almost anything and his smile was always radiant . Even as a baby , his eyes were filled with shine and excitement .

But those trait he remembered are now vanish . From the moment he meet him , Eren never once smiled at him . He could not see the shine that used to be in Eren’s eyes . Eren’s eyes reflected something else . It was …dark … cold … lonely.

Eren started to feel uncomfortable as the man stayed silent after he showed him his power .

Why is he being silent ?

Why isn’t he saying anything ?

Then pitch’s voice rag inside his head .

You’re a monster!  

no .. that cant be . Jack has the same power like him . He wont think him as a monster as well … would he ?

No one loves you ! you’re a monster and that’s the reason why your parents abandon you

Eren’s body starts to shake . He is a monster to everyone . He should have known better .  What was he expecting showing his power to Jack ?

Frustration starts to build up inside him. He felt his heart being clench as he bit his lips .

His power starts to leak out of himself . The temperature around starts to drop but before any damage could be done Eren felt a pair of warm hands enveloping him.

Jack is hugging him.

Jack had spend most of his time with Elsa and he knows that her power reflected her emotions. He knew Eren inherited most of her traits .

When he noticed Eren’s power leaked , he knew right away what he was thinking. The boy’s ice tells him everything .

Im a monster .  

Jack quickly pulled him into a hug .

“ You’re not a monster” whispered Jack .

He could feel the boy’s shaking. “ b-but …” he stuttered

“ You’re not a monster. You’re you, Eren..” said Jack as he pat the boy’s head

“ my power …” Eren mumbled

“ Its a beautiful gift ..   ” Said Jack

Eren’s eyes widened . He was used to pitch saying his power was the reason that he’s a monster . The reason why his parents abandon him . To have someone saying it’s a beautiful gift it touched him.

 “ no one …ever said that to me ..” Eren sobbed silently

He was trained to hold his emotion but in Jack’s warm embrace , He felt safe  That its okay to let a few tears slide down his cheeks .

Jack hold the boy in his embrance . He miss his son more than anything. This time , he wont let him go. He will protect him
