This was it, this was the moment she'd dreamt of. Gilbert parked in front of her house and shut off his vehicle.
"Thank you for such a great night." Mary Mae said, she felt comfortable around him now, happy even.
"No, thank you for making it such a great night! Hopefully next time we can spend more time together." Gilbert smiled smoothly.
"Next time?"
"I mean, if you'd want to?" He sounded nervous, his chiseled jaw looking more defined than it had the entire night.
"I'd love to." She smiled. "So... uh... is this the part where we kiss?" She was deliberate with her word choices, knowing what she wanted. She wondered if they were already moving too quickly.
"If you want to," Gilbert breathed as he sucked in a breath. He had been so confident at the start of the date. Four hours ago, he seemed like a completely different person, "but I don't want to cross any boundaries unless you're comfortable with that."
"I'd be comfortable having my first kiss tonight," Mary Mae leaned in as Gilbert eyed her suspiciously.
He backed away slightly as his eyes filled with an emotion she'd never seen before, "if this is going to be your first kiss, I'd want to make it special."
"Just kiss me," she said, shutting her eyes as she leaned in closer. Within seconds, Gilbert's lips connected with hers as tingles ran up and down her spine. She was nervous, her mind crazy about the fact that she was kissing him to even enjoy the moment.
They pulled back and smiled stupidly at each other. He pulled her back in as they continued to kiss, exploring each other's mouths as the only thought going though Mary Mae's head was the fact that she was being kissed by a totally hot gentleman.
It was getting steamy as the windshield began fogging up, they pulled away to breathe and reconnected once again.
After about thirty minutes, the porch light turned on and Mary Mae's mother walked out. Mary blushed and smiled at Gilbert.
"Thank you again for tonight, I'll never forget it, let me know when our next date is going to be! I'd love to hang out more." Mary Mae kissed him one last time before she reached for the door handle.
"Wait," Gilbert called and quickly rushed outside to open her door for her.
"Thank you," she hugged him as he walked her to the porch and shook hands with her mother. He returned to the car and started backing out of their driveway.
"How was your date?" Mary's mother asked as they stood watching him leave. He waved at them and drove off.
"Magical, he is so amazing! He's such a gentleman and he's so insightful and wise! I feel so lucky." Mary smiled, her nose slightly pink and her lips swollen.
"He must've been a hell of a kisser too." Her mother pointed to Mary's face as Mary Mae blushed.
Mary nodded, "made for a magical first kiss mom."
"Alright, well it's almost midnight so head upstairs, don't forget you have school tomorrow." Mary obliged to her mother's request, heading up to her room and changing out of the dress.
She saw herself in the mirror. Her lips were swollen and her hair was slightly messy, her lipstick was all over her mouth. She smiled thinking of Gilbert with her lipstick on his face, the thought made her smile as she brushed her teeth and slept.

"Well don't you look happy this morning," Zach said as Mary hopped into the car, her mind wandered to the previous night when Gilbert had held every possible door open for her and she smiled. "I assume your date went well?"
