Ruby and Jasmine seem to have settled in well over the last few months. I'm still getting over the fact that she is in senior school now though. She is a lot friendlier now, we get on a lot better. Thank goodness all the teasing has stopped. For now, at least. Oh, I just remembered we are rehearsing for our drama performance of the reaping scene in the hunger games, I know all of my lines I should be fine. I was allocated to be Katniss, yay!!!! I suit the role, I have dark brown wavy hair which contrasts my pale peach skin. My eyes are a bright emerald green colour and my lips are a rosy red. Ruby is sort of like prim, very pale blonde hair and blue eyes, and pink lips. her skin, like mine is pale with a rosy pink tint on our cheeks. we have the same figure, slim sleek and petite, (just not as petite as Eleanor, she's really tiny,) and our faces are a similar shape. I suppose you could say we look alike. Anyway, I look like Katniss so, I have been put as her. I hope it all goes well... Oh, it's just rehearsing, I almost forgot.
We had 3 lessons before drama, but here we are now, in the hall, rehearsing as hard as we can. I am with Eleanore, Millie, Lauren, and some boys of whom I don't know their names, all I know us they are playing Gale, Peeta, Haymitch and peace keepers. Molly, Karmel, Amy and Hannah are in another and Darcey and Chloe had to go in another. I feel bad. But, hopefully next time the groups can be bigger. This time, I am Katniss, Eleanor is Prim (she was the lightest to be picked up by Gale or whatever his name is, boys don't interest me), Lauren is Effie Trinket (her voice is the highest) and Millie is Katniss' mum. I am doing well remembering lines, but to be fair, even though I am the lead role, Effie talks more than me in this scene.
"And the female tribute for district twelve is..... Primrose Everdeen" Lauren calls out. Oh, are we here already? Eleanor walks forward slowly and I time around 10 seconds before leaping forward, shouting:
"No, Prim, Prim!! No! I volunteer as tribute, I volunteer as tribute!" As I do this, the 2 peacekeepers thinks me backwards, and then Eleanor looks at me and lets out a very loud snort of laughter, causing sing everyone to be in hysterics. Vvvvvvvvvvvv. I don't think that's normal, is it? The ground was just vibrating... Oh well I don't think anyone else felt it was probably just me. we carry on rehearsing but now all I can think about is that vibration. Vvvvvvvvvvvv. No, there it is again. Vvvvvvvvvvvv. And again... Strange...
"Did you feel that?" Eleanor asks. oh good, it's not just me going mad.
"Yeah, weird..." Lauren says dreamily
"Hmmm" I say. Ccccccccccrrrrrrrraaaaaaacccccckkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!! A massive crack tears the room in half, causing walls to break into pieces and bits of ceiling to fall everywhere. The impact knocking everyone to their feet. Not surprising, seeing the size of the crack. I don't think anyone fell in, no everyone is here, but probably just by chance. I pick up the courage to go and look down the crack, and as I crawl over, I start to wonder about Mum, Dad and Ruby. Are they alright? I reach the edge and peer down, it isn't good. I feel sick. It's really deep, and has a river of lava at the bottom bits of crumbling rocks break of the side and pipes snapped in half spray water down. Rubble from the school walls and ceiling fall down.
"Oh, no!" I mumble to myself.
