"Welcome welcome, James and Chelsea! Dinner will be ready in about thirty minutes so feel free to look around, nothing's out of bounds, so as long as you're staying here, consider this your own home."
I only caught the last part as I was in awe of the house I was standing in. "Wait what? You can't be serious!"
"I am"
"Thank you, so much!"
This house was truly something. The actual scale of the house wasn't what impressed me, it was the design, and how much money and thought went into the making of it. It was basically one giant stone masterpiece.
Guy had already left by now, leaving just Chelsea and I, and our luggage.
Chelsea was the one to actually make me move, loading the bags on me.
"Well, I guess we sho-should find where we're sleeping, and then look around the place"
"Yeah, sounds good"
After a bit of wandering we found a spare bedroom. It was in the second floor and the wall opposite the bed was just glass, but it did have a blind. It also contained a ensuite and walk in wardrobe.
Of course we didn't use these features straight away, once we found the room, we just threw the bags in there and then went out again.
After a little bit of walking, Chelsea and I had been in every room. On floor one there was the main bedroom which Guy used, the library, the main living room, a spare room, a study, Bathroom, an art room, and a sound room. Floor two had the second living room, a gaming room, three spare bedrooms, another study, and the dining room. And on the top of the house was a covered outside patio, this was located at the centre, and there were other different tables and chairs around the rest of the rooftop terrace.
After locating all of the rooms we headed back down to the dinning room just in time for dinner, Guy was already there ready to show us where we'd be sitting.
"so what do you think?"
"What do I think?" I exclaimed while sitting down onto my chair, "This place is brilliant!"
"Oh, I wouldn't go that far, it's not like Buckingham Palace or anything"
"Still, the design and layout, I love it"
"Thanks, I did most of that myself"
There was really only one way I could respond to that; "I love your taste"
"Thanks, I'm going to go check on dinner, I'll be right back, if that's alright with you?"
"Yeah, no worries"
As he exited, the room fell strangely silent.
Which was soon replaced with a loud and bright *crunch*. And a voice coming from the shadows, "So you're the one he spoke with..." another crunch, fresh but creepy in sound, "James and Chelsea... I don't know what you know, but I know you know more than I know, so..."
I know they don't so go know grow Joe Blow?
The strange person finally came into the light, "...what happened to me?"It's her, Guys sister. She was currently eating a carrot, that's where the noise was coming from. She actually looks taller, now that she's standing up. She's not a bad build either, almost perfectly slim, and wearing a fitness bra and shorts. The most noticeable thing though was that even awake, I couldn't see her ears, it seems like they're always down.
Chelsea realised that I was staring at her and gave me a well aimed jab in the ribs.
"Gah!" When I looked at her she was just glaring at me, so instead of trying to communicate with her, I just went to talk to rabbit instead (I didn't know her name)
"I-"
"Save it for later" and she started to walk away.
Later? "Wait! Can we please learn your name?" She stopped, turned around, and said, "He hasn't told you yet? Interesting, well, it's Carrie" and then she walked off, through the same walkway as her brother.
It was another fifteen minutes before guy arrived back, it wasn't to bad though, I was with Chelsea after all.
"Sorry for the wait, but dinner's ready now"
"Is your sister going to be joining us?"
"Not exactly"
Just as he was finishing those words a man that looked like a butler came into the room, carrying a very large silver cloche. The smell emitted from it only truly hit me after it was placed on the table, it smelt like coffee.
Now, I don't mean that to a literal sense, but the smell reminded me of coffee as it had the same vibe in that it's both delicious, and off-putting. It's delicious in that it did smell really good, but there was just a strange familiarity about it that, was just odd.
"James, Chelsea, I'd like you to meet Butler. He comes over to cook and serve dinner every day, that's all. He's called Butler as that was what he wanted, and I don't have a problem with that so... Yeah"
I was just thinking, odd, as Butler spoke up. "Pleased to meet you James, the furry one, and Chelsea, the great friend. Guy has told me about you, and don't worry, you're secret will remain only to my knowledge as long as I live, if that is your wish"
Very formal.
"Thank you Butler," sounds strange just saying it, "it's appreciated"
Then Guy spoke up, "Butler is an excellent cook in my opinion and I hope that becomes yours as well once you try his food, now let's eat!"
At the word eat, Butler lifted the cloche to reveal a beautifuly cooked and rendered... Rabbit!?
