captured by her surroundings, she smiles. a flutter escapes from her belly & bosoms to her heart. patter patter her heart beats gently. is this warm feeling love?
as we step out of the vehicle, I take in the surroundings & smile. kendall walks around the car & moves behind me. within my heart I thank kendall for bringing me here. as my eyes move over the terrain, I notice how lush the grass is & how hardly there are any footpaths in the grass, no litter in sight & how free the birds & wildlife flourishes.
kendall's face is blank as he watches me stare at the other side of the park. "hey adia, I want to show you something
follow me", says kendall suddenly. he rushes over to the left side of where we stood making his way to a great sycamore, as I follow I notice how familiar he is with this side. his brown curls follow behind him. the path this side is slightly worn. as he makes his way over to the sycamore ,he waits for me to catch up.
there is something in the way he looks at me that I never seen before, like... ive never seen someone look at me with such comfort. I make my way over to him. "this is a tree that is quite familiar by my presence", he chuckles.
he presses his thumb on the old trunk of the tree. "look", he says.
over where his finger points I notice a carving.
continuing, "here me & my mom used to carve out our names, well not all the time, the poor tree would have been demolished"
I look to the spot where his pointing. faded slightly by the tree's trunk healing itself, I notice in a neat handwriting jen loves Kenny. without saying a word I watch his face. he stares blankly at the carving. "she left when I was around 6 or 7, my mother struggled with the pressures of being married & having to raise a little man
he pauses, then she turned to alcohol, like hardcore shit. well eventually she lost her job & my dad had to kick her out", he finishes.
im not known well too consoling someone in distress or emotion but I offer him my hand & rub lazy circles around his hand with my thumb.
"kendall, im not known for being good with offering empathy in times like this but I know a place where you can share your emotions, thoughts without feeling judged or anything" , I say.
"where is this place?", he says suddenly snapping back to reality. he faces me.
I take his hand & place it on my chest. "here".
he looks me right in the eyes then pulls me in. my heart pounds against his hand. his eyes locks with my lips & like a swimmer his dives in to kiss me. its not how everyone always describes. first comes the softness of his lips gently moving against mine. & this warm feeling that moves from my belly up to my cheeks.
once we move apart I gently breathe out. we both start smiling. "what was that for?", I ask.
"hmm just a thank you? okay, your lips looked so inviting", he says shyly. we both start laughing.
im so happy I said yes to this.
