Chapter 21

"So Cato,"Caesar begins,"How does it feel to be a victor."
"Okay. I won for Clove and her baby sister." I respond.
"Ah yes. Your fiancé," Caesar takes out a handkerchief and dabs below his eyes.
"So tragic!" He coos.
"I know." I mumble.
"How did you feel when Clove call-" he begins but I cut him off by standing up and walking off stage.
"I want to go home now." I say to Brutus and Enobaria.
"After you finish the interview." Brutus says.
"Where are ur manners, Cato?"Cettke squeals.
"Now." I demand.
"Go and finish the interview so we can leave." Enobaria pushed me back on stage.
I run up to the front of the stage and jump. I fall on my back and I go numb. My eyes roll to the back off head from the impact and stress than I fall into a black nothingness.

Clove reaches her hand out to me.
"Clove am I going to die?" I ask grabbing her hand.
"No. Elm needs you." She responds,"I need to show you someone."
She leads me over to a window and a beautiful girl stands there. The girl has long blonde hair that falls to her waist. She has golden skin and is beautiful. She is in a house holding a baby. I look closer and see that she is holding Elm.
"She's beautiful. Not as beautiful as you are." I say and kiss her lips.
I kissed her again. I savor this moment and after a while we pull away.
"I want you to marry her. Her name is Summer." Clove's statement shocks me.
"Why her?" I ask.
"She is the perfect person to take your mind off me. She is great with children and she has always had an eye on you. She's sweet and can use weapons like me. She uses a machete though." Clove explains.
"Why is she holding Elm?" I inquire.
"She is Elm's babysitter." Clove smiles.
Clove starts to fade away and she hugs me. I kiss her one last time.
"I love you!" I cry,"I love you so much."
"I love you too ,Cato. Goodbye. See you soon." She walks into the light and locks her arms with Glimmer.

When I wake up I'm in my district's hospital. Finally out of the Capitol,I mumble to myself. I need to find Summer and ask her to go out with me. I will do it right after the crowning ceremony.
I am on the stage of the Justice Building and President Snow is giving a speech of some sort. I'm just looking for Summer. I spot her and smile. She smiles back and waves.
I mouth to her,"Meet me,"I point to the side of a building,"over there."
She nods her head then looks at Snow again. He walks up to me and places the crown on my head.
"Good job. Here are your keys." Snow congratulates me.
"Thank you."
When the ceremony is over I rush to the side of the building. Summer walks over to me and introduces herself,"I'm Summer! It's nice to meet you."
I shake her hand,"Cato,"
"I know who you are. Was there something you wanted to say?"
"Um...yes. I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me?" I say shyly.
"You got over Clove quickly." She tilts her head to the side.
"Did you see me jump off the stage?" I ask.
"Yeah," she sounds frightened.
"Well I had a dream and...and...she wanted me to marry you."
She gasps,"But you barely know me."
"I know but you are great with children,your beautiful,your strong, and she said that she thinks you will take my mind off her."
"Okay. Wait why do you need someone good with children?"
"I'm taking Elm out of that hell hole she lives in." I explain.
"You are! That's so great! I feel so bad for her. I am constantly taking her out of there because even when I'm there they beat her and threaten to do the same to me if I tell anyone." she begins to cry.
"Please don't cry,Summer." I say bringing her into a hug.
"Thomas left as soon as his mom had Elm. They caught him in the woods and did a public beating. They were gonna kill him but his girlfriend's parents paid the money to free him. It was a lot of money." She sobs.
"Its okay Summer. We're going to save her. Let's go to her house now."
We walk to her house hand in hand and for that time my mind was off Clove. I think I can marry Summer. I will always love Clove no matter what but Summer may be my new fiancé soon.
