I am standing at the alter watching Summer's bridesmaids walk down the isle. Elm crawls to me so I pick her up while waiting for my bride to come down the isle with her beautiful smile.
My mind has never gotten off of Clove. No matter what I was doing Clove was still in my head. Wether it was doing dishes or playing with Elm or even proposing to Summer she was still there.
On my bedside table is a picture of Clove and I kissing. There are pictures of Clove all over my side of the room. I can see that Summer is a little offended by it but I will never take them down. Clove will always be with me.
When I am out of my daydream I see Summer walking down the isle. Her dress is the complete opposite of what Clove would wear. Clove would have a simple dress but Summer's is very extravagant. I smile at her and she smiles back. I place Elm in the chair that was provided for her on the alter because we want her to be part of the wedding.
"Cato Hadley, do you take Summer Taff to be your wedded wife till death do you part?" The priest asks.
"I do." I say after a moment of hesitation. I always thought I would hear Clove Minestein.
"Do you, Summer Taff take Cato Hadley as your wedded husband till death do you part?"
"I do." She smiles.
"Now for the child." The priest says.
"Do you promise to be loving parents to Elm Hadley and never abandon her. Do you promise to stay by her side no matter the consequence?"
"We do." Summer and I agree in unison.
"You may now kiss the bride." I lean in and peck Summer on the lips.
"May I present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Cato Hadley!" The priest booms.
Summer and I hold Elm and run down the isle.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen follow behind us. My new life has begun. But Clove, I will always love you.
