I went to Shanghai in January for a debate tournament. I went with my school and there were 8 of us. I was the only freshman. It was a 5-day trip, it was very cold and I went broke fast because I'm smart with money (I'm really not). All in all it was a fun trip. We got there, we had a little tour and we went shopping a lot because we were mostly girls and that's what we wanted to do. We went to a market and got dumplings because dumplings were first made in Shanghai. We also got strawberries dipped in honey which was AMAZING! I absolutely recommend it. We debated (duh), we were all in separate forums I was in the legal general assembly. I argued about diplomats, stateless people and universal jurisdiction. It was fun. We got back about 5 days before COVID hit international news. We got back on Monday and the news went out on Friday. We left in the nick of time. If we had been there a week later we would have been stuck and as I said earlier I was fucking broke and no one's cards worked. It was such a fun experience but it could have gone real bad real fast.
