Logan's POV
Be-
I quickly shut off my alarm clock, having been up for awhile before that, texting my soulmate.
He was an... interesting character, to say the least, but no one gets to choose their soulmate. They merely have to live with them.
I had only gotten 7 hours of sleep. I know, it was terrible!
I got up and decided to make myself some coffee, knowing that I'd need it if I was going to meet Roman's friend today.
"Hey nerd." Roman greeted me as I entered. Somehow, he was up before me.
"Salutations, Roman." I said, going over to the coffee machine.
"You didn't get your 8 hours of sleep?" Roman asked.
"No, I got a mere 7 hours of sleep. My soulmate had been texting me, and it woke me up. Since I was awake, I figured I might as well text back." I explained, making the coffee.
"Can you make me some?" Roman asked.
"Sure." I said, grabbing another coffee mug.
After the coffee was done, mine being in a travel mug, I left for work.
"Don't forget that at 2-"
"At 2 o'clock, I am meeting your friend and his soulmate, and your friend's roommate. See you then, Roman." I said, leaving.
When I got to the library where I worked, I grabbed the books that needed to be shelved, and began putting them in their respective shelves.
I worked here temporarily. Even though it didn't pay well, I couldn't find any other work that interested me. I wanted to go to university and become a teacher, which was my dream career. But, since I worked at a library, I knew that plan would take awhile.
When I got in, I quickly did my usual stuff, then grabbed the books that needed to be shelved, shelving them properly.
2 o'clock came quickly, and by then I was at a Starbucks, sitting and enjoying my coffee. The barista was nice. Nothing special, just the good old peppy, emotion-filled adult, who hasn't yet been able to understand life.
Yeah, I didn't like him.
Anyway, I quickly finished the little bit of coffee I had left, throwing the cup in the garbage, and left for the Sanders Sliders restaurant. (Yes, Seven, blame ALON3, I needed a restaurant name)
Sanders Sliders was a new restaurant that opened not all that long ago. It had good food, everyone agreed. It was family owned, and nobody could hate it. The people working there were nice, the food was... amazing. I think they even used Crofters in their PBandJs.
I loved it.
Anyway, I waited outside, for my companions to appear.
Roman was first, then his friend and his roommate, who came together. Then, the friend's soulmate appeared. Afterwards, my soulmate came.
"Hey! I haven't seen you in so long, buddy!" Remus said, as he came up.
"Remus?" Roman's friend's soulmate looked surprised, and smiled.
"Yeah! Nice to see you again!" Obviously they knew each other.
"C'mon, let's go inside! We wouldn't wanna spread ourselves too thin!" The friend joked. He had said that since it was lunch, he was definitely getting a PBandJ, just like I would be.
I groaned, Roman just went straight inside, not looking at his friend's roommate, Roman's friend was giggling, my soulmate didn't react, and I knew he had... quite a different type of humour then Roman's friend, and his soulmate rolled his eyes, and barely smiled.
"You are right though... um, I never did get your guys' names." I said.
"Oh, right, silly me! Well, kiddo, call me Patton! This is Virgil," he gestured to his antisocial roommate, "and this is Dee."
"Nice to meet you, Patton, Virgil and Dee. I am Logan." I said, and we went inside and got a table.
We ate, and me and Patton clicked pretty well. I don't quite get it, cause we were so different.
I hate emotions, but this man was full of emotions, like the barista from earlier. (They are not the same person... I just wanted to fool y'all, and I hope it worked 😜) Except, I liked him better.
Maybe more than I shou-
"Hey, Virgil, we don't know much about yo-" Roman cut off mid sentence.
I realized that Virgil had taken off his hood, since it made it hard to eat, and this was the first time they were making eye contact... which is how you found out if someone is your soulmate.
"Oh, no... no, no, no!" Virgil said, breaking eye contact, putting his hood on, and holding his head.
"Virgil," Patton said, moving closer to the man, and speaking calmly to him, "breathe in for four seconds."
Virgil complied.
"Hold for 7." Virgil did.
"Out for 8." Virgil exhaled shakily.
"Now, repeat as many times as you need to." Patton smiled apologetically to all the rest of us.
Virgil repeated this a few times, and he seemed to calm down.
"Better, kiddo?" Patton asked.
"Y-yeah, I guess..." Virgil said, not seeming completely sure.
"What happened, kiddo?" Patton asked, moving away from Virgil. I could tell Virgil wasn't going to answer, so I did.
"I can tell. They are soulmates." I said. Patton looked at me, surprised, then looked at Virgil, ecstatic.
"Really, kiddo?! Did you finally find him?!" Patton asked.
Virgil muttered something, probably a 'yes', cause Patton squealed.
"Yes! I told you, didn't I, Virge?" Patton said, excited.
"Finally! A little late, aren't you, brother?" Remus asked Roman.
"Not really." Roman replied. "There are people older than me who haven't found theirs yet."
"True. But, still... now, you can start having fun." Remus said, his voice full of implications. Roman went bright red, and I'm sure Virgil did, too, but he looked down, and his hood was still on.
"Remus, don't." I said, trying to get him to stop. Sometimes, well, most of the time, he was annoying, and embarrassing.
"But, Lo!" Remus complained. I silenced him with a look. "Fine."
"Thanks, Logan." Roman thanked.
"No problem, Roman. I've gotten a fair bit used to your brother." I said.
"Brother? I didn't know you had a brother, Roman!" Patton said.
"Yeah... he's my twin. When you met me, he was already in juvie." Roman said.
"Yeah! Just because I had punched a couple of kids in the face, and laugh whenever anyone gets hurt..." Remus said.
"Remus, calm down." I said.
"Don't worry, Lo, I'm fine, just feeling a little salty."
"But you're not a French fry, or any particularly salty foo- wait, is this another one of those slang terms I have to learn?" I asked, when everyone was looking at me funny.
"Yeah, Logan." Roman said.
"Ugh, I can't keep up with these..." I muttered, as I grabbed a cue card out, writing out the new 'definition' of salty.
"Don't worry, Logan, I'm sure you'll understand it eventually!" Patton said, happily. I smiled, still writing on the cue card.
"Wait... did Logan just... smile? Only me and Remus can do that..." Roman said.
"Yeah." Remus said. He sounded confused.
"Your happiness must be contagious, love." Dee said.
"Perhaps." Patton said, blushing. I liked his blush. It made him even cu-Logan! Stop it!
"Anyway," I said, standing up, "I'd better be going. Sorry, Rems." I apologized to Remus.
"It's fine, Lo. I'll see you later." Remus said, winking, and I blushed, knowing what he meant.
"Well, bye!" Patton said.
I left, waving, very confused.
