The four had been travelling with the Northern water tribe, and Y/N was resting against the side of the boat watching the waves when Pakku asked everyone to join him for a moment. Y/N smiled as she watched Pakku give Katara some spirit water, and scrolls to Aang so he could continue his training.
Y/N couldn't help but let out a soft laugh as she watched Sokka walk away empty-handed. "If it makes you feel any better, I didn't get anything either" Y/N spoke as she placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, causing Sokka to smile softly.
"Remember to fly to the earth kingdom from the east of here. General Fong will meet you, and escort you to Omashu. You will be safe there, and can begin your earth-bending training with King Bumi."

Meanwhile, Zuko was sitting against the wall while his uncle was getting a massage, talking about how tense he was after escaping the northern water tribe. However, he was too busy thinking back to three years ago, when he was banished, and how he eventually found the avatar, only to start falling for Y/N and to lose them both, having to start his search all over again.
Iroh made his way over to Zuko and sat down beside him. "I see, it's the anniversary isn't it."
"Three years ago today I was banished, I lost it all... I want it back. I want the avatar, my honour, my throne" And Y/N, but Zuko didn't have the strength to voice that thought, though he didn't have to, his uncle knew how he felt, even if he tried to hide it. "We will find them Prince Zuko find her, and then we can all go home" Zuko tensed at the mention of Y/N, he had never spoken about her since he watched her walk away. He looked away before getting up and leaving his uncle, wanting to be alone with his thoughts.***
Y/N smiled as Sokka helped her down from Appa, and looked towards General Fong. "Welcome! Aang, Y/N, Sokka, Appa, the mighty Katara" Y/N nodded her head in response, before looking up at the fireworks "Not bad, right N/N." Y/N looked towards Sokka with a smile as he used a nickname she hadn't heard in a while. "It's certainly a welcome"
The four followed General Fong into the main hall and listened to what General Fong said about Aang and the avatar state. However, they all gasped when Fong suggested that Aang was ready to face the Firelord. "What? No, I'm not!"
"With all due respect General Fong, but Aang still needs to master the earth and fire elements. The whole reason we came here was so you could escort us to Omashu" Y/N frowned as she spoke to the general.
"Why? With the power he possesses? He destroyed hundreds of battleships in a matter of minutes, and from what I hear, you're just as powerful Y/N. With both of you, we could defeat the Firelord now!"Sokka frowned as he listened to Fong, clearly not listening to what Y/N was saying. "But sir, Aang and Y/N can only do those things in the avatar state"
"Yeah, and I don't know how to get in or out of it. Or how to control it."
"It's settled then. I will help you figure out the avatar state and then you'll face your destiny."
"No! Nothing is decided" Katara stood up as she spoke. "We already have a plan Aang is pursuing his destiny his way."General Fong frowned as the three agreed with Katara. Shaking his head, General Fong motioned towards the window, where healers were tending to his injured troops. General Fong spoke to Aang about how many soldiers were injured, and how many had lost their lives during the war, before leaving Aang with his thoughts on where to go from there.
Later that night Aang returned to the champers he was sharing with his friends and told them he agreed to help General Fong. Y/N sat back on her bed with a sigh as she listened to Katara and Sokka argue what was the right and wrong way to do things.
Y/N shook her head as she watched the Aang have mud thrown at him in another attempt to trigger the avatar state, and nothing seemed to be working.
Y/N watched as Katara walked away from Aang. Whatever they were talking about, it didn't end well. "Hey, don't worry it takes time to learn these things. There isn't really anyone who can teach this"
"But I don't have time, the war started one hundred years ago. I need to defeat the Firelord now..."
"You know I'll be there with you. Every step of the way"
"Thank you Y/N, I really don't know what I'd do without you"
