Kyoko kirigiri wasn't one for getting drunk, but tonight felt special she had lost the love of her life to her best friend. The girl in question was being spun around the dance floor by her father, smiling and giggling as she did back in high school. But back at hopes peak, Sayaka maizono was hers, but the idol industry didn't want lesbian idols so when they were let out for the summer between their senior year Sayaka was shipped off to a camp and returned similar but not at all the same. And whatever they had had those months ago was gone. Now Sayaka maizono was Sayaka naegi and Kyoko didn't know how to cope. So whiskey seemed like a good option, it slid down her throat like honey and burned like fire. She tried to be happy standing next to the blue-haired girl at the alter but she could see how Sayaka's eye flickered away from Makoto and how her smile wavered when she said I do. Simple things only a detective would pick up, maybe it was a hint that she didn't love the man across from her. But Kyoko wouldn't question it, is it made Sayaka happy she would move on.
It took a month later Sayaka arrived at her apartment. She didn't say a word as she removed her wedding and engagement ring and set them in the key bowl. Kyoko just watched, had they gotten in a fight? Her question wasn't answered as Sayaka kissed her, it had been years but their lips still fit together perfectly. That night they were teenagers again, sneaking into each other's dorms to make out and enjoy each other to the max.
After that whenever she got the chance Sayaka snuck away, whether it was lying about working late or saying a tour went on longer than it did. Kyoko never asked questions she just let it happen, she knew it was wrong she was sleeping with her best friend behind her other best friends back. The detective didn't want to be the other women but with Sayaka, she felt whole again and that was enough to keep this "relationship" running.
The final night Sayaka came over they were watching a movie, something Sayaka had loved when she visited America. Kyoko didn't care she was just happy holding the idol on her lap and running her fingers through her hair. That was the last present moment before the screaming, neither Kyoko of Sayaka had noticed the apartment door open and Makoto walk inside. The detective really regretted giving him a key, it was only because they were working on a case together and she hatted working in the office. " Sayaka what the fuck, you said that the song file got deleted and you had to work late." The blue-haired girl jumped off her lap and fell into the coffee table with a hiss. " Makoto, It's not what it looks like. I got a threat and Kyoko was working on the case. I didn't wanna worry you so I was just here to work on that, She was calming me down cause I had a panic attack right Kyoko?" The detective nodded reaching a hand out to help the other up. " Then why where you're rings in the bowl by the door? Why are you wearing Kyoko's shirt?" The idol starts crying taking the purple-haired girls hand it standing up, the throbbing in her leg matched the pounding of her heart. Sayaka was a liar, but she didn't know how to lie her way out of this. " I guess we must come clean, me and Kyoko have been seeing each other for the past year. I started this I was frustrated and I couldn't take faking it any longer, I needed someone to be me with. Makoto I'm a lesbian and it'll be the best for both of us if we file for divorce as soon as possible." He nods before turning on his heels and leaving dropping the key in the bowl, it clatters a little too loudly for either girl liking. Both girls have too much to say, but they both say nothing.
And saying nothing was their demise, the divorce went through and Sayaka moved in with Kyoko. Neither clarified what they were to each other, but the fact they slept in the same bed and kissed regularly lead Kyoko to believe they were girlfriends. Until it just stopped, Sayaka moved into the guest room, only sneaking back in when in need of pleasure. Kyoko still said nothing, because she loved that girl too much to ever complain. But all good things must come to an end when Sayaka introduced Celestia as her girlfriend a no more crawling into Kyoko's bed or wearing her shirts. They were just roommates.
And that's how Kyoko ended up at another wedding that was not hers, and once again Sayaka maizono was just out of her reach. Maybe another set of rings will take home next to her keys. and maybe kyoko will learn to question the blue-haired girl she's so in love with.
