Continuation of Flashback
Meera couldn't wrap her head around what just happened. She couldn't believe that Mahi talked to her that too on his own. She thought to herself,
“He hates me right?Then why did he talk to me?? Am I dreaming? And what was he talking about? I didn't understand a single word?”
“Because you are so infatuated with hin that every time he is near, you become dumb, ” mocked her subconscious.
“Am I mad? Or was he talking in circles? Or was it all my imagination?” Meera asked.
“Just pinch yourself” advised her subconscious.
Meera actually pinched herself hard and gasped,
“Ouch!!!It hurts.”
“Who told you to actually pinch yourself?” mocked her subconscious.
Meera was really vexed being played by her subconscious, “You!!!”
“Dumb much... So if I ask will you jump from a building?” asked her subconscious.
“No!!!”
“See... I told you,” her subconscious smiled.
“What?” asked Meera.
“That you are dumb and he still hates you, ” smirked her subconscious.
Meera in reality was actually trying to deny the truth but still said, “No!! If he hated me, he wouldn't talk to me like before as well as wouldn't call me baby girl. He may not love me, he doesn't hate me either.”
“ He is just playing with your emotions. One day when you will realise, don't come crying to me.” sneered her subconscious.
“Just shut up and go away, ” shouted Meera.
She noticed that people were looking at her weirdly. Then she realised that she was talking to herself loudly in the parking lot. She muttered sorry, got into her car and drove away. She has been talking to herself unknowingly since Mahis rejection.
All the way she was humming a love song thinking about him, how he called her baby girl. She was literally feeling butterflies in her stomach. But what to do... This was the first time her one and only love talked to her for that long. Otherwise he wouldn't even glance at her let alone talk to her. His answers were always monosyllabic.
This was a really very happy occasion for her. She felt like her heart would burst out of happiness. She was giggling like a lovestruck teenager.
She was again feeling hopeful. At least they could become friends and then she will try to melt his ice-cold heart slowly. At least now she can be by his side. Fake or not he will be her husband.
But unknown to her fate had something else stored for her....

Do you think Meera is silly? Talking to herself & all. But it is true that sometimes to escape reality people prefer talking to themselves than others. Gradually it becomes a habit. I think there is nothing wrong in that as long as they are happy. 😊
