Chapter 18 - Steamy Stormy Night

Parker POV

I jolt up from my sleep to a sitting position by the sound of loud thunder. Looking around, I noticed it was still dark outside with a lightning flash illuminating the darkness and it was raining. Placing my hand on my thumping heart, I take a deep breath to calm myself. I don't know how I could fall asleep when it was this loud outside.

"Are you okay?"

"Aah!" I screamed in surprise as a hand gripped my shoulder from behind. Turning around, I came face to face with Matt's worried expression. "Hey, don't scare me like that!"

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." He mumbled apologetically. "Are you alright, kitten?"

I blush at the nickname he gave me. "Y-yeah I'm okay, I'm just surprised that's all," I said truthfully while taking a calm steady breath trying to calm my racing hard once again. "When do you wake up?" I asked curiously, hoping that it's not because of me jolting awake just a moment ago. I immediately feel bad and guilty about it.

Matt seems to notice it and the next thing I know, I was pulled by the wrist towards him and landed on his body that was covered with soft fur since he was not wearing a shirt. Matt lay down on his back with my head resting on his toned chest. I can hear his heart beating softly and feel his chest rise up and fall with each passing breath he takes as he nuzzles against my hair, inhaling my scent. One of his arms wrapped around me and the other tucked underneath his pillows.

"Don't worry kitten. Besides, I don't even get some sleep at all. It's hard to fall asleep when there's a storm going on. It's so loud and I need to be on guard in case something happens since many dangerous things could happen during a storm," he said calmly. I can feel my body relax as he says that. "Anyway, I feel sorry for Ezami. I hope he could handle it," He mumbled quietly.

I looked up at Matt and raised my eyebrows. "What's wrong? Is there something that happens to Zamey? Is he okay?" I asked in confusion and concern.

Matt shook his head and chuckled. "No, nothing happens to him. Don't worry."

"Then what is it?" I asked in confusion.

"You can hear it don't you?" He asked.

"Hear...what?"

"Listen carefully, kitten," he said.

We stayed silent about a second or so then that's when I heard it. A loud snoring sound coming from the direction where Ezami's tent is. The snoring sound was so loud that you can hear it even from the sound of the storm outside.

"Damn that loud!" We laugh and I lay my head back on Matt's chest and our legs tangled. I place my hand on his stomach, tracing his hard muscles and his V-line with my finger. I can hear Matt purr loudly and deeply as I give him a belly rub. "This reminds me of our first date last year." I chuckle as he blinks confusedly.

"Yeah?" He asked with a wide smile on his face, still purring deeply.

I nodded and said, "Yup! This is exactly what we do after our date at the festival, remember?"

"Oh yeah, I remember.." He smirks and adds, "..I also remember us sharing that yummy popsicle."

I glare at him and pinch his side, causing him to yelp in pain. "Asshole," I mumble underneath my breath as he laughs loudly. "Reminds me not to share any popsicle with you again."

"Aww, don't be like that," he pouts childishly. "Besides, you are the one that told me to take a bite."

"Yes but I don't say to eat almost all of it!" I pout.

"Don't worry kitten, I'll buy you one in the future," he said with something gleaming in his eyes then he smirked evilly. "But I don't think I have to buy you one cause you already have one already. Yes...it came with the best flavour in the world and it was inside my short- Ouch!" He yelps in pain as I pinch his side again, hard.
