I still couldn't believe she spoke to me like that. It's like she doesn't even know who I am or what I'm capable of. No one who knows has ever pulled something like that before because they know they would have their head handed to them. Not only did her defiance anger it excites me, it excites my wolf he loves a good chase but I don't chase women , I've never had to. But she's not any ordinary easy woman shes my mate and something tells me she not going to be easy to handle.

I need to find out more about her. I need to know why she's a leverage to Agustus.

"Alpha......you asked for me ", James said as he enters my office interrupting my thoughts.

James is my second in command, my beta . We have a mutual friendship and I respect him, his loyalty is unlike any other and I can always count on him.

"Yes, I need you to find out about the girl I brought in lastnight Kassidy Clarke, she's my mate" , I told him.

"Your mate ??", asked uncertainty.

"Yes I found her at Victor's she was to be used as leverage over Agustus so I need to know more about her and quickly ",I said to him with authority.

I hate explaining myself but he's my beta so he needs to be informed of everything just as much as I am.

"Ok....I'll see what I can do", was all he said and left.

A few hours later I was still sitting in my office going through paperworks. I couldn't stop thing about kassidy. I've never thought about a woman this much a day of my life before. I usually just use them as I like and never speak of them again and they'd know better that to ever confront me again.

What is happening to me??? I cant be getting soft all because of a mate. I refuse to, I can't be that pathetic. This is not going to be much different form my other relationships with women and its going to be on my terms. After all she has to do what I say.

Knock!! Knock!! Knock!!

"Come in", I ordered and James walked in with a folder and place it in my desk.

"That all the information I found on her alpha ", he said and took a seat in one of the chairs in front of my desk.

I took it up and read through it carefully. I read through it aboutfive time still no believing what I was seeing. 'This can't be right', I kept thinking.

"This can't be right james", I finally said aloud.

"I'm afriad it is alpha.....but I think there's still more to ......", James replied.

"This shows nothing about her being a wolf , this says she's a bartender a normal human no pack , my mate can't be some weak human", I exclaimed in frustration.

"Maybe this is just a front, maybe she a rougue one of those who seeks refuge in the human world", I explained trying to make sence of things.

"We need to find out more ,this says she lives with her mother ....... where's her mother???",I asked.

"Her mother was kidnapped from her work around the same time she was kidnapped in her way home so I'm guessing she's at Victor's place", James replied.

For some reason I just know there's alot more to this story the information in the folder is just a cover.

"Maybe you should just ask her....after all she's you mate", James suggested .

"Come in" ,I shouted .

Annabelle rushed in hyperventilating as if she ran all the way up here. This had me confused, what could be so urgent that she had to run to get here. No one could be stupid enough to attack us so I was sure it wasn't that.
