I step out of my portal from one of Spencer's ask or dares.

I lower my hood and take off my helmet, tossing it aside, I plop down on the couch, groaning.

I feel a hand gently shake me, I look to who was shaking me to see my darling daughter Zoey and amazing son shawn.

Zoey: are you ok dad?

Me: *groans in pain* *strained* yeah, your dad is just really sore.

Shawn: do you want to talk about what's on your mind dad, I can tell that something is bothering you.

Me: *strained* I'm not going to put my problems and stress on your shoulders.

Zoey: *hugs me* daddy, you not telling us what's wrong will stress us out because we'll worry about you.

Lapis: *walks up to me* you ok love?

I was about to talk but Zoey interrupted.

Zoey: daddy is stressed out about something, and he is very sore.

Lapis: Zach, what's going on?

Me: *gets up and sighs* how about we spend time together as a family for now, and I'll tell you all later, sound good?

Shawn: ok, but later on you gotta talk to us dad.

Me, my lovely wife and kids go out onto the beach and relax and spend time with each other as a family.

Me: *sighs and smiles* I needed this, relaxing with my family, not having to worry about any threats or fights.

Lapis: this is nice, all of us here, relaxing on the beach as a family, watching the sunset together.

Shawn: even though the fights and battles in the future are uncertain, enjoying the peace we have now is worth it.

Zoey: I agree with you brother.

Me: there's a saying an old friend told me, yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, that is why it is called the present.
