Five years ago: Yo (16) Ming (18) Forth (19)
Yo was in class with Ming when he got a text from Forth - wondering if he wanted to hang out today. Yo smiled and tapped Ming on the shoulder.
"What's up?" Ming asked and Yo showed him the text.
"Could I use you as a lie? Just this once?" Yo asked, with his huge puppy eyes, and Ming gasped.
"Baby Yo knows how to lie? Yo, of course you can. I was gonna say you should say you're coming to my house to do home work and then sneak over to Forth's," Ming said.
"You're not mad I'm lying?" Yo was confused.
"Not at all. Every kid lies to their parents at some point in their lives, I lied to my mom about Kit until a couple weeks ago." Ming said.
Yo nodded understanding.
"So if I wanna hang out with Forth... I can just tell my Dads I'm with you? And they'll believe it?" Yo asked.
Ming nodded.
"Yeah. They trust me with you - so they'll let you come over and won't ask anymore questions other than what time to pick you up." Ming said.
Yo nodded. "Thank you Minie..." Yo smiled.
"No problem baby-Yo," Ming smiled.
- at Ming's house after school -
"Yo, if you want to sleep over that's fine with us. We're working the late shift tonight," Mx. P said and Yo nodded.
"I'll stay the night at Minie's. I love you! I'll call you before I go to sleep," Yo said and then ran up to Ming's door as his Dads drove away.
"Hey Ming, Dad said I could spend the night tonight. They're working late again." Yo smiled.
"Did you tell Forth that?" Ming asked.
"Not yet - I figured I'd come back here after hanging out with him..." Yo said.
"Spend the night with Forth, you guys haven't had much time together as a couple," Ming said - really just wanting Yo stay over there so him and Kit could have some time alone.
"Ok..." Yo was a bit awkward. Not knowing what to do.
"Go over there, go in to my back yard and you'll see a red gate in the middle of the fence. That's Forth's yard. Just knock on the back door and he'll be there," Ming said and Yo nodded before going out there.
"Red gate.... Red gate... Red gate!" Yo walked for a few minutes before finding it.
He opened it and made his way to Forth's door. Not even three steps in, someone came up from behind and grabbed him - covering his mouth. Something was up against his head as well.
"Who are you?" The person asked and Yo was terrified - nearly started crying until he heard Forth yell from in front of him.
"Let him go!" Forth yelled.
As soon as he was let go - Yo ran to Forth and nearly tackled him in a hug. He was shaking and tears were still rolling down his face.
"It's ok, no one will hurt you," Forth said and hugged Yo tightly, trying to calm him down.
"J. Why'd you do that?" Forth yelled to the person who scared Yo.
"I thought he was someone else," The girl said.
"Whatever. We'll be in my room. Make sure mom doesn't come up there at all." Forth said and picked up Yo - carrying him inside.
"Who was that?" Yo asked as he wrapped his arms around Forth's neck.
"My sister. She's a little.... Cautious of people. Are you ok? Did she hurt you?" Forth asked as he set Yo down on his bed.
"No, she just scared me," Yo said and smiled as Forth wrapped a fluffy blanket around him.
"Do you have any home work? Let's get that out of the way, then we can hang out," Forth said - remembering the promise he made to Ming earlier in the day.
Yo nodded and grabbed his bag from Forth and took out his homework.
"What do you have to do?" Forth asked and sat beside Yo - his arm around his waist.
"I have to write an essay about the gangsters in America in the 1920-1930s." Yo said and Forth was shocked.
"Why American (USA) gangs? Thailand has some history with those as well." Forth said.
"The teacher just used that as an example - but we can do any country we want, I figured that was just the easier one..." Yo said and looked up at Forth.
"Can I help you write about Thailand-Gangs instead? It'll definitely get you a higher grade, and the teacher will be very impressed by it." Forth said.
"Really? Why?" Yo was happy Forth wanted to help him.
"Not a lot of people know about that part of Thailand's history, it's kind of been hidden and erased throughout the years. You're teacher will be very impressed that you actually took the time to do your work rather than copy something from Google about America," Forth said.
That's one thing Yo loves about Forth. He's extremely intelligent and always does things with the intent of helping others become just as knowledgeable as he is. Especially when it comes to Yo. Forth's taught him a lot in the last year.
Forth got off the bed and walked over to his book case.
"You have books on it?" Yo asked as he saw Forth pull down a book.
"Not exactly," Forth said and told Yo to bring is bag and come stand next to him.
Yo did as he was told and stood next to Forth while wearing his backpack.
"Come here," Forth said and held his arms open for Yo.
Yo hugged Forth and was confused when Forth picked him up.
"What's going on?" Yo asked.
"You'll see," Forth said.
Forth fully pulled the book down onto its side, the floor opened up, and the two went falling....
