"Himari!"
"Hicchan!"
"Hello, Nishikawa!"
"Come over here for a little bit, Himari-chan!"
Already from morning and this place sure is noisy huh, I sigh. But, I suppose it's always like this, here in sunny Ichikawa Academy.
"What are you doing, Himari?" Kotone, my friend, said.
"Nothing much. Just thinking." I looked at her, feeling very bored.
"Is there really time for that though? Your fans are coming this way, fufu..." She smiled her normal sneaky smile. What?
"What do you me-"
"Himari!"
"Oi, Himari-chan!"
"Nishikawa, heeeyyy!"
"Yes, yes, I'm coming, I know!"
Meanwhile, Kotone started to laugh from behind me. This idiot...
That girl is Ayakawa Kotone, my childhood friend.
With black, wavy hair and blue eyes, she always managed to look like the perfectly sophisticated girl. We've been together since childhood, and she is one of my best friends. Although...
"Oi, Himari, why are you zoning out so much?"
"Hicchan!"
...Seems like everyone here is my childhood friend. I looked around in the room with a slight smile on my face. W-Well, not everyone...
At that moment, Tsukikouji's sharp eyes fell on me.
I smiled uneasily. Maybe this time, she won't be rude - hey! That just now, you clicked your tongue! You did, didn't you?
Then she stormed out of the room, slamming the door. The room became eerily quiet. Several people looked at me in pity.
"I saw the whole thing, Himari-chan! Don't worry, you did nothing wrong!"
"What a drama queen!"
"Ugh, I never liked that girl. Tsukon? Tsukoko? I mean, who cares, right!"
Aoki-kun, you idiot, don't say that! Just as I was thinking that, the girls in the room started to laugh. Many boys, however, just sighed.
Hm?
Hah, seriously. I looked at the door with a confused look in my eyes. Just what is her problem with me?
If you don't already know, my name is Nishikawa Himari, fifteen years old. Although I don't look like it, with my average looks and boring personality, I'm pretty popular around these parts. But somehow, the new girl in school, Tsukikouji-san, seems to really hate my guts. I have no idea why, though.
Sigh...
Ever since Tsukikouji came into the class last October, she's always been particularly nasty to me. With no social skills, no charming personality, and being so mean to people, she was quickly becoming very unpopular. Her only charm point is her above average looks, in the girls' opinions.
And for some reason, she hates me with a burning passion. I wonder why?
...
"Dad why are you so... happy?"
He's been smiling from ear to ear ever since he came home today. Weird. Since dad was a serious type of person, seeing him smile so much for so long is very weird to me. I felt a chill down my spine.
"Well~ Hi-chan, let me tell you the great news~!"
...Hi-chan? Who's that?
I looked at my father with my eyebrow raised.
...Gulp. Something's VERY WRONG.
"Hey, Hicchan! No need to look so affronted, this will help you too!"
Somehow, I really doubted that. Did he win the lottery? Did he find the tesseract? Hm, I can't seem to figure him out... Very suspicious.
But. Seeing him so happy was VERY rare. So, I let it go.
"Then, what are you so happy about, dad?" I was very curious now.
"Your dad got a new job as a director!"
"Wow! Seriously, dad?!"
"Yeah!"
I hugged him tight. How lucky of him to get such a good job! Dad, I'm proud!
"And there's more! Your dad managed to pull some strings, Hicchan! Starting tomorrow, you're going to Saffron Academy!!"
...Hah. What?!
