Chapter 16

Sophia’s P.O.V.

Kinabukasan ay tinungo namin ang Orion forest. Ezio does not want to me to come with him but I insisted on coming anyway. I am their luna, I want to know more about my pack. I want to know how can I be of help.

Orion forest serves as a border of Saeree and a human town, for that reason this forest are known to be a neutral ground. Nang makarating kami sa lugar ay naroon na rin si kuya Jacob upang mag imbestiga. He nodded at me to acknowledged my presence which I returned with a smile then his eyes turns towards my mate.

“The patrols left the place untouched for us to investigate. I looked around and found this.” Inihagis nito isang walang lamang basyo ng injection kay Ezio.

May mate catches it midair and examine it closer. He then pull the back of it open to smell what could be the previous chemical that’s in there. Tumiim ang mga mata nito. His grip tighten on the small empty glass, destroying it into small little pieces. I can’t help but flinch a bit upon seeing how some of the broken glass manage to get into his skin, creating a small wound in his palm.

“Wolfsbane.” He muttered with anger lacing his tone. “Those fucking hunters.”

Kumunot ang noo ko sa sinabi ni Ezio. Hunters?

“Who are they?” Hindi napigilang tanong ko rito.

I walk towards him and hold his wounded palm, checking it to remove the glasses. Ezio take a deep breath while his other arm encircled my waist in a protective manner. His feral side is getting agitated. If the prospect has been captured by hunters I wonder what is the reason why they are still keeping him alive. Somehow I know that Ezio and I is having the same conclusion. There’s more to it than a simple hunt.

“We don’t know yet but father is right, it is not Templars. They might be our enemy for centuries now but they are not the kind to kidnap people. They more of kill on first sight kind of group. Aside from that, we both belong to the same kind. I don’t think they would do something that will reveal the biggest skeleton on the closet.” Wika nito habang isa-isa kong tinatanggal ang piraso ng basag na bote sa kamay niya.

After knowing about hunters it made me think that werewolves ain’t really a secret to humanity. There are humans who knows their existence. “I don’t understand though, why would they kidnap one of your kind?”

“To expose our existence. You see, that is the reason why we need to kill any human who discover our kind. Humans tends to be scared when they can’t explain the reason for existence of our kinds.  And a scared human often create irrational decision and that what makes them dangerous.” Paliwanag ni Jacob na siyang nagpabaling ng tingin ko rito.

“Are we in danger then?”

Ezio caress the side of my cheeks that made me turn his eyes back to him. “No, if there’s someone in trouble here it’s them. There’s no way I am gonna let them harm my pack or my family in anyway.” Kuyom ang kamaong sagot nito.

Tumango ako rito. I will put my trust on Ezio in this case, I saw first hand how capable he is in protecting his family. He’s ain’t an alpha for nothing. I guess this is the main reason why the enemy seems to target the weakest link in the pack in silent. They can’t afford to reveal their identity. Once the assassins learned who is the person behind this, they won’t hesitate to send their members to rescue the prospect and eliminate the threat.

“What now? Someone is hunting in your territory. What will be your next step?” I take a step away from Ezio and look around the lush forest.

Kumunot ang noo ko ng maramdamang bagaman kasama ko ngayon si Ezio, kuya Jacob at iba pang assassin ay tila hindi magawang mapanatag ng loob ko. It is as if someone is watching my every move and planning to target me. Napahawak ako sa dibdib habang pinapakiramdaman ang paligid. This place is odd, it feels like as if someone is observing me from a far.
