A close friend once told me
"Why do you need to change yourself for all these fake people?
You know who you are right, you know you are better & something they can never be.
Also, you don't have to stay with those idiots for your whole life, then why make your character dirty if the sandstorm will eventually pass.
Just be who you are & don't change just to prove some point.
Never change yourself irreversibly for temporary things, because those things will fade away but you will be damaged forever."
This is one of the rare advices that I actually value a lot!
