(Warning: The following chapter contains a brief mention of self harm and suicide.)
Weeks passed before my back recovered. I had to tell my parents I was sick so they wouldn't bother me. During the day, I'd lie helplessly on my bed trying not to move, because I'd feel a shock of pain course through me every time I did. When I went to the Dream World, I'd often not do much, and I'd simply float to get by. Because of my injury, we weren't able to make any progress towards Caramel Castle until about two weeks later when I felt like I was finally able to move alright. But with each passing day of me lying helpless and miserable, I felt resentment against Midnight build.
I couldn't stand him anymore, I just couldn't. He should be grateful that he was out of my sight for all the time we were forced to stay at the hotel, because otherwise, I would have snapped his back in half and seen how HE likes not being able to move for weeks on end. Believe me, I tried to come up with excuses for him. But between all of the pressure I was under and the general rage I was constantly feeling, I was just done. One morning, we all made our way to leave for Caramel Castle for good, but as we were walking down Andromeda Alley, I saw Midnight again with his stupid sister and nearly lost my mind.
I wanted to give that fucking twerp a piece of my mind, but Cherry and Cassidy were holding me back, and I didn't want to do anything reckless and accidentally get them hurt. Midnight didn't even notice that we were there until Luna tried to hurt him too, and she was held back by the Hirolf Twins. It must have been an odd sight for Midnight as he turned around to see two enraged children trying to bite his head off both being held back at the arms by three wolf mutants and a rabbit lady.
"What the... Prophecy Boy, what are you doing?" Midnight sighed.
"The fuck do you mean 'what am I doing'?!" I yelled. "What are YOU doing, with your stupid top hat and dumb little baby hands and stupid fucking face-" I tried to wriggle free of Cherry and Cassidy's grasp but they were much stronger than I am.
"Kyle!" Cherry scolded. "How dare you say such mean things?"
"What?!" I said. "WHAT?! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN?! THAT IDIOT ALMOST FUCKING BROKE MY BACK!"
"Hey!" Hati shouted. "Don't be mean to Cherry, or I'M gonna break YOUR back!""Don't touch Kyle, you asshole!" Luna growled. "I'll kill you all if you even THINK about it!"
"Okay, let's all just calm down.." Cassidy said. "We can work this out, okay? Just stop getting mad-"
"Here's a better idea, how about you shut your stupid mouth?!" Harou chimed in. "Nobody even likes you, you psychopath!" Cassidy looked genuinely hurt at what he said, and held back some tears.
"Harou, you hurt her feelings!" Cherry said. "That was NOT nice of you! Why, I had never known you to be so rude! What has gotten into you?"
"What do you mean, what's gotten into him?!" Hati said back. "Harou's always been a stupid asshole, you know! And a dirty, crazy, mangy killer too-"
"OH, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD WITH THAT BULLSHIT!" Harou wailed."EVERYBODY JUST SHUT UP!" Demanded Luna. "I CAN'T BREAK MIDNIGHT'S STUPID NOSE WITH YOU ALL YELLING LIKE A BUNCH OF IDIOTS!" Midnight raised an eyebrow at her.
"Yeah, me too!" I said. "Let me go!" I tried yanking my arm away from Cherry and Cassidy, but again, they were much stronger than me. It looked like Cassidy was about to say something, but then Midnight started to clap slowly, putting us all in a tense, confused silence.
"And you wonder why I wanted to kill you, Prophecy Boy..." He said, shaking his head. "Isn't it obvious? All you cause is trouble! I mean, look around. Your violent ways have turned everybody against each other! I'm really trying to do them all a favor by just ending your life already!"
