Parker
I stand in the corner watching Kohl and Jasar discuss what we should do with Faust. They are both in agreement that Faust is up to something, which I agree with as well. Jasar is concerned and against hearing Faust out. Kohl is stuck on Faust's claim of returning my powers. I must admit, it would be a good change of pace.
We could use a win.
As the two discuss the safety of the pack, something hits me in the stomach. It feels like a fist. It triggers a feeling I know all-to-well. I rush to the trashcan by his desk, sit down beside it and throw up furiously. I take a deep breath and continue my purge. When I am done, I notice I am now clutching the trashcan. The two wolves are staring at me with shock. They seem to be at a loss for words.
"Are you okay, Luna?" Jasar asks.
"Have you ever had four children inside you?" I ask.
"Four?" Jasar asks looking to Kohl, "Congratulations, Alpha!"
"Shut up, Jasar." I say as I take a deep breath, "We need to hear him out."
Kohl stares at me for a second before nodding, "I agree."
"Are you sure? He is deceptive and cunning." Jasar asks.
"I trust the Luna. He is, after all, my equal." Kohl says walking over and helping me to my feet, "Besides, when the Luna throws up in your trashcan because your children are in him, you have to cave to some things."
"Thank you." I say gesturing wildly at him, "At least it was the trashcan this time."
"Yes, I'm sure the cleaners loved the vase. Or the drawer. Did you think we weren't going to find that one?" Jasar asks.
Kohl chuckles, "I gotta admit, the look on Jasar's face was pretty epic."
"Let's go and talk to him."
I take the first steps as we leave Kohl's office. I stop at the bathroom to wash myself after throwing up in the trashcan. After I am done, we quickly make our way to the holding area and we are let in by the guards. Kohl and Jasar enter first, followed closely by me. Faust is sitting against the wall with shackles over his wrists and feet. His eyes have been glued to me since we entered. Kohl steps in front of me, glaring him down.
"You want to talk. Talk." Kohl asks as he folds his arms over his chest.
"Always the chivalrous Alpha, eh mate? The stalwart protector. The fluffy little puppy with a bone."
Kohl growls.
"Aye! There he is." Faust says.
"Faust." I say moving beside Kohl, "You're here for a reason."
"Yes." He nods as the shackles pop off his wrists and feet. He stands and dusts off his pants, "Oi! It's dusty in here. May need a dirt duster or summit."
Kohl and Jasar drop into a defensive posture but I reach out and grab Kohl's exposed skin. His head jerks before he breaks the posture. He looks to Jasar who does the same.
"If you wanted to hurt us, you could have." I say quickly, "But you don't?"
"Hell have I been saying?" Faust frowns, "My intent was never to hurt any of ya. Only the Gods."
"Tell Gaius that." Kohl growls.
For a split second, remorse streaks through his eyes before he is back.
"Yeah, well, I was feeling particularly reckless."
I reach out to Kohl again and he noticeably softens. I look to Faust. He is staring at my grip with a smile. I glare at him. He seems disoriented. The more I stare at him, the more I see how tired he looks. No, not tired. He is sick.
"I am not here to debate my actions with you. I do hate losing arguments. I'm here to return what I borrowed." Faust explains, "Your father had something of mine. A mystical artifact that facilitates the transfer of power between beings."
"You're serious?" Jasar asks, "You gave Gaius a powerful artifact and killed him."
"Why would you give him an artifact like that? If you've been planning all of this, why give him something you could have easily used?" Kohl asks.
"We all have our secrets, dun we?" Faust frowns, "This offer is for a limited time. Time's tickin, wolf-prime."
"How are we supposed to find this item?" I ask.
"Search." Faust frowns, "I have a feeling, between the two of us, we can find it."
"Totally going to regret this but challenge accepted."
