Harry and Ginny's wedding—it was arriving faster than she would have imagined.

The duties and responsibilities of being one's Maid of Honor were even more tiresome and strenuous than she had originally thought. It was putting a lot of strain on the friendship between her and Ginny.

Ginny was a bit of a bridezilla, wanting everything to be as perfect as it could be.

The relationship between Maid of Honor and Best Man, however, felt different—interesting, better, more mature—than she would have first expected. Ron had said and done several things in their past that had made Hermione question their closeness. Harry was her best friend, but he had also been Ron's, meaning that all three were forced—in a way—to spend time together. Ron and Hermione had always been a little awkward around each other. And just when things would finally start to feel somewhat normal, Ron would say something that would quickly change her mind. On more than one occasion in the past, he had given her the impression that he had feelings for her, so she didn't understand why he had always acted like a malevolent git.

However, now that they were actually working side-by-side together and technically dating, she could see how she could maybe learn to love him and just maybe eventually spend the rest of her life with him. Maybe.

Remus glanced up at the figurine on his desk that Hermione had given to him so many years before. The carved creature of the night always brought a smile to his face, just like she did. He put down his quill and picked up the wolf, just soaking in her every feature. She had a gracefully elegant form, dark eyelashes that laid softly on her cheek since her eyes were closed, a thick silky brown fur coat that covered her stunning neck, long thin arms with dainty paws—she really was beautiful.

It felt impossible, but the wolf appeared to mirror his attraction to the young witch. He decided it was because he was simply overly exhausted from his grading. He needed to stop and take a real break.

He knew that he needed to get over her immediately. But he missed her terribly. Ever since their moment of weakness had occurred, everything reminded him of her. He could see her, could smell her, taste her—she was everywhere, all around him.

The wedding day was only a day away and Ginny was beginning to unravel.

"What are we going to do?" She asked her mother. "I can't think of anyone else!"

Molly wasn't sure how to respond to her daughter. "Don't fret Ginny, dear, we'll think of someone."

Hermione and Harry walked around the corner, hearing just the tale end of the problem.

"What's wrong?" Harry asked his fiancée.

"Louis was supposed to be our ring bearer. Fleur just called and said that he doesn't want to do it; he's too scared."
