Flashback

General Narration

Three years ago

War Path sat on the edge of the cliff of the former base looking off into the dry and empty desert. He felt a tickling feeling on his servo. He looked down and smiled.

???: "Its called a scorpion."

War Path flinched and looked back at the source of the voice. A dark blue and black femme leaned against a rock.

War Path: "Shadow. How'd you know I was up here?"

Shadow: "Well I didn't see you in the foyer and I usually come up here to be alone and think. Mind if I join you?"

War Path shook his helm as Shadow walked to the edge and sat down next to him. There was an awkward silence between the two. Surprisingly War Path broke the silence.

War Path: "W-What brings you up here Shadow?"

Shadow: "Well I already told you. To be alone and to think. May I ask; Why are you up here War Path."

War Path: "Well you know I'm the distant type. Always the loner."

Shadow: "Why is that?"

War Path: "Trust issues. So I keep it down."

Shadow: "War Path, How many times have we said we are a family and that we will always have each other?"

War Path: "Many times, but its like Prime would say Trust ain't granted, it's earned."

Shadow: "That does sound like something he would say."

Aboard The Nemisis

Megatron furiously yelled at Dreadwing and the remaining deceptions.

Megatron: "You failed in destroying the Prime's sparkmate. You are a failure."

Dreadwing: "Lord Megatron, please forgive me. The one called War Path got in the way, taking the blow instead."

Megatron: "War Path?"

Megatron smirked showing his pointed dentas.

Megatron: "This could prove very good."

Autobot Base

Flashback

Shadow P.O.V

I looked at War Path and realized something was troubling him. His muscular build had the sight's but it was his battle scars that told the story.

Shadow: "War Path?"

War Path: "Yeah?"

Shadow: "What happened to you?"

War Path looked at where my I was looking at. He covered the scar on the side of his abdomen with his servo and looked out into the desert.

War Path: "Let's just say I made a bad choice in trusting someone who I thought I knew."

Shadow: "What happened to that bot?"

War Path: "She's no longer around. I had to kill him."

Shadow: "Oh. I know what that feels like."

War Path: "You do?"

Shadow: "Yeah."

There was a silence in between the us again.

War Path: "What happened?"

Shadow: "Do you remember when I first came around? Back when I was Rose?"

War Path: "Yeah?"

Shadow: "The day Optimus found me I had come from a terrible home with my father. He would blame me for the death of mother. He'd beat me over and over again. If I still had my human form, you would see my scars on my arms, my back, and my legs."

War Path: "Why did you never tell us this?"

Shadow: "I figured it was a story for another time. That is why I was so jumpy when I met you guys."

War Path: "You were totally fine."

Shadow: "On the outside yes. But on the inside I was scared as hell. Even after my transformation."

War Path: "Ohhh. I would've never have guessed."

Shadow: "No one would."

Shadow looked at War Path once more.

Shadow: "What's wrong? Why are up here?"

War Path: "Because there is a choice I have to make. But I don't know if my choice is wisest."

Shadow: "Need some advice?"

War Path: "What do you know of this?"

Shadow: "You forget I was once human. I've learned. I may not be wise but I know right from wrong."

War Path nodded and looked out into the desert.

Shadow: "Whatever choice you make, make sure it not only benefits you, but those around you."

War Path: "I never thought of it that way. Thank you Shadow. You are someone I can trust."

Shadow: "I have a feeling that you and I will be close friends some day."

War Path: "So do I."
