Relana was a bustling kingdom filled with all sorts of people and magical creatures from all over the country. It was Wisterias largest capital and had more than 30,000 people living among its crumbling, ancient walls. It ran off of many nefarious acts and everything else in between, the city riddled with crime or extraordinary places to go because of it.

Anything and anyone, flocked here every single day for some kind of business or pleasure reason, the streets always crowded with peculiar faces. Hundreds of various stands of all kinds were lined up on the boulevards daily; their peculiar merchants dressed in elaborate foreign garments. You could tell what country or faction they came from, by the diverse wares they sold. I would occasionally stop at one of the herbal stands if it wasn't too packed for me and I bought certain ingredients for my potions there, some stands more fresher or reasonable than others..

Everywhere you went though, it was always packed to the brim with folks doing all sorts of errands and whatnot, their presence annoying or thrilling to some extent. I looked up at the clock tower in the distance now, it said it was half past noon.. Shit, I thought. I needed to get to the guild in a bit for training.. The guys would be mad at me if I'm late.. As I stood there, it got even more hectic now with everyone going out to eat or stopping to watch one of the many live performances, the performing arts guild held in the main squares plaza..

I shimmied my way around the crowds and I picked up my pace again. I continued my stroll to the guild and I sauntered toward the main squares fountain and plaza then, since it was in my direction as well. The area around me filled with a plethora of friendly faces that greeted me warmly as I approached. Couples were holding hands and laughing merrily amongst each other, while small children threw coins into the water. I saw their parents watching over them carefully, the sight of joy and leisure in everyone of their eyes.. Even during this crazy war, the citizens somehow managed to have smiles on their faces, the horrific events of the war not even plaguing them one bit. They all seemed to be.. totally unfazed by it all.. I squint my eyes and cross my arms then.

Fuck, I thought, the shit I witness at night on these streets is just.. absolutely fucking insane I tell you. It's like, all the screams and dried blood stains you see and hear during the day; just aren't that much of a nuisance to some who are out and about all the time like i am.. But.. To me, it's still a pretty big fucking deal and it still freaks me the hell out. Like, HOW CAN YOU NOT NOTICE THAT?! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS?? DON'T JUST STAND THERE GAWKING AT THE FLOOR LIKE FUCKING IDIOTS. DO SOMETHING.

Fortunately enough though, I was a court witch that didn't tolerate that kind of bullshit. I would always randomly find myself interfering in other people businesses on the streets and getting rewarded for breaking it up too. The sweet satisfaction of helping those in need was the greatest reward out of it yet. I was never in it for the money, I just wanted to help the war effort as much as I could by using my abilities properly and not recklessly. I'm just, so thankful that a majority of them were verbal arguments and not full-on physical ones. The guards were way more skilled at combat than I was by far..

Hell, on most nights though, I never slept peacefully in my room either, even if I lived inside the Kings court where it was supposedly, 'safe'.. I could hear the distant shrill screams of the innocent civilians from my window.. On top of that, i could hear the faint sounds of swords clashing, followed by manic laughter in between.. Every sound chilling me to my bones and echoing throughout my walls, their haunting presence piercing the nights tranquil silence and my slumber.. I had to let the guards do their 'jobs' without me butting in, but.. it was just so hard not too..

This reminds me about that one night though, when I snuck out to witness one of those said guard fights up close and personal.. My butting in would soon screw me over in the near future.. It was a.. bad decision on my part, but.. My eyes widened then as I stop in front of the entrance to the plaza.. Ohh god.. I can remember it now very well..

(I have a flashback to the most badass, yet incredibly dangerous night I had 2 weeks ago. It has affected my current outlook on active nightlife in the city and curiosity's cruel misfortunes..)
