"So you just dropped the bomb her brother killed her mother?!" Nathalie bellowed. If she was a vampire, her fangs would definitely be out now. "Can you get any more stupid?!"

Elena, to her credit, didn't flinch as the Bennett screamed her lungs out at her. She knew Nathalie would probably make a scene after she told her about Rebekah, her actual family history, and her stupid 'news' announcement. "But she's on our side now, isn't she?"

"You, little—"

"Ladies," Damon said from the threshold. They have been growling and grunting, snarling and roaring for almost half an hour now, and that was about so much he could take with a single cup of coffee in his system.

Nathalie's head whipped in his direction, growling something he wisely chose not to hear nor comment on. The witch stalked towards the door quickly and was just to pass him, before reconsidering.

"Next time such shit is gonna go down," she purred in his ear and the vampire couldn't stop the shiver that ran down his spine. Dark hell, that woman. "You better give me a call first."

She walked into the Salvatores' spacious living room, kicking Mikael's arm out of her way as she strode towards the stone-faced blonde Original, Stefan dialing Klaus's number.

Nathalie gently, as if not to startle her, wrapped an arm around Rebekah's body. "How are you?" She whispered softly, too low to be audible for the Salvatores, let alone the doppelgänger.

"I'm fine."The answer held no bite or accusation, just a quiet request not to push, although the Bennett felt as the blonde stepped closer to her, into the hug. Their gaze moved to Stefan when the hybrid finally deigned to pick up. "Portland is fantastic. Once you get over all the whiny music and healthy looking people it is literally a breeding ground for werewolves."

"Your father is dead," Stefan said bluntly, keeping his expression calm as if Klaus could see him through the phone.

A pause followed before the hybrid spoke up, his voice nearly over the breaking point. "What did you say to me?"

For a millisecond, Nathalie let herself feel sorry for him. Just a millisecond, before shoving the feeling deep, deep down. The Salvatore started saying, "Oh, my mistake. Not your actual father and not dead. Mikael. Daggered. What do you want me to do with the body?"

"Well, first I want you to explain to me exactly what happened."

Stefan started explaining how Mikaels had allegedly followed Elena in the room, where he and Damon vervained him and in the process discovered that he had a dagger he had originally planned to use on Rebekah, but instead Nathalie had driven it through his heart. The Bennett looked at Damon at the last part, and he just shrugged as if to say 'We had to make it somehow believable.'
