"Phesmatos sapren emnis labortum fecils quisa exsilum son."
Nathalie peered open one eye. She and Bonnie were again in the old witch house, trying to pry open that stupid coffin. She was cold and she was hungry. And above all––annoyed. The Salvatores were supposed to meet them here five minutes before. Surely, the new Stefan was really into being late but where the hell was Damon?
"Phesmatos sapren emnis labortum fecils quisa exsilum son." The sisters repeated the spell and looked expectantly at the fourth, very much stubborn casket. Bonnie stepped closer to it and tried to yank the lid up. No success.
"Why won't you open?!" She yelled angrily. They'd been doing the same thing for hours and hours now. And with the money they spent on the candles, littering every surface, they could've boat plane tickets to the Bahamas and never think about this gruesome town ever again.
The whispers of the hundred witch ghosts started again and both Bennetts looked up the stairs when they heard the floorboards squeaking. Nathalie motioned to her little sister to stay behind her. Just amazing, now and an unwanted visitor! Their day was going to be amazing––maybe there would even be a zombie apocalypse after dinner!
"Hello? Someone there?" Bonnie called weakly from behind Nathalie, the latter trying to pick up any sound that wasn't actually supposed to be heard in the abandoned lodge. A whoosh of wind brushed the locks of her hair. Taking out her daggers from their holsters and handing one to Bonnie, who didn't miss the chance to make a grimace, the girls stealthily stepped towards the door.
Only to find Damon standing on the stairs, holding a finger in front of his lip. Clearly, there was someone else in the house.
The vampire disappeared up the stairs and Nathalie waited exactly thirty seconds, before following after him, her steps quieter than cat's ones. Bonnie, of course, followed her sister.
They exited the house just in time to hear Damon saying, "These hybrids, really bringing the neighborhood down," and throwing a ripped heart on the ground. There was a corpse in his feet with a large hole through its back.
Bonnie put her hand on her mouth with a disgusted face as Nathalie turned to the Salvatores. "Why was he sniffing around?"
"We didn't really have the chance to ask, sweetheart."
The older Bennett stared blankly at the hybrid's body. If he had been snooping around, then Klaus must have been hot on their tails. Meaning: she and her sister would need to spend a lot more time in that house or buried in grimoires.
She looked up at the vampires, who looked like they were waiting for a report. She tsked, "That coffin is determined to play with our nerves." She nodded towards the corpse, already walking hand in hand with her sister towards her car. "Hide the body."
