It was 8 pm and Marinette was getting ready for her date. She had just finished wearing her dress, when there was a certain knock on her trapdoor. She quickly opened it and as expected saw Chat Noir grinning.
"Hello purrincess!"
"Hi Kitty!"
"Where are you going tonight?"
"I am not going anywhere. I'm just staying home." Marinette replied.
"Oh come on! Don't hide it! I know you are definitely going somewhere." Chat Noir replied with a hand on his chin.
"Okay! Kitty! You win. I am going on a date with Nathaniel."
"You what princess?" Chat noir asked utterly shocked.
"Well I am going on a date with Nathaniel." replied Marinette, this time, raising her voice.
"You can't go."Chat noir had a ferocious look on his face.
"But why can't I?"
"Because..." Chat noir looked around to think of some excuse that will force her not to go with Nathaniel... "you still like Adrien right?"
"Oh! Come on Chat noir! I am trying to move on and I don't think I like him anymore.. Well what is the point of loving him? He'll never return my feelings." Marinette replied being annoyed.
Chat Noir was mad with anger and jealousy. "Well! You turn out just like the other fans of Adrien. You wanted him because of his looks and money. Didn't you? You never truly loved him. Because if you ever did then you should be having difficulty in moving on. Marinette how can you be so mean? You lied to me, you lied to him, you lied to everyne that you truly love him. But you don't.
Chat Noir looked up and saw tears in Marinette's eyes. She suddenly rushed forward and slapped him hard on his cheek. Being ladybug, she was way stronger than any other civilian and so Chat Noir fell to the ground, but didn't try to stand up because he was completely shattered at the thought of Marinette going on a date with Nathaniel.
"How could you say those things?How could you, Chat Noir? I thought you understood me. I really loved Adrien and I still do, but the thought, that he will never return my feelings makes me hurt and so I was just trying to forget about Adrien by going on a date with Nathaniel. He was the source of my happiness and when he rejected me, my happiness went away. I felt like I had nothing left in the world to be happy for. But no! I was wrong! Whenever I'm with you or Nathaniel, I feel happy. Everyday I saw Adrien smile, it flattered my heart with happiness. I even gave him a handmade muffler on his birthday, which he thought was given by his father."
"Why? why didn't you tell Adrien that it was given to him by you and not by his father? Wasn't that what you wanted?" He asked with guilt in his voice.
"I made that gift to tell him how much I care about him. But when I saw that 'million dollar smile' on his face, I knew I couldn't tell him the truth. All I wanted was,him to remain happy always, because I LOVE him."
Marinette just blurted out all these words, went towards her bed, ducked her head into one of the pillows and started crying. She was frustrated because of the annoying and disgusting conversation.
Chat Noir realised his big mistake of accusing Marinette of false love. He knew that Marinette was not that type of girl and infact she had already said that so many times but his heart didn't want Marinette to give up on Adrien because he, Chat noir, Adrien loved her.He went up to her and pulled her into a hug. She didn't hug back but didn't move either.
"I am so so sorry princess. I should've never accused you of that. How much time do you have before that date of yours?"
She rubbed her puffy,red eyes and said, "Half an hour."
"Fine princess. Hold onto me tightly. We're going to the top of the Eiffel tower."
She did as was told. She quickly clutched onto Chat Noir tightly and they went to the top of the Eiffel tower. She looked up and was awestruck. The night sky was amazing with thousands of stars dazzling. "Isn't it amazing?" asked Chat Noir.
"It's so splendid and breathtaking."Marinette replied still looking at the stars.
"Well you are not less beautiful than them."She blushed at his compliment.
"Stop flirting! You naughty kitty!" Her sad and melancholic mood was changed into a happy one.
Suddenly chat noir stood up and gave me a hand and said," May I have the permission to dance with you my princess?
"But there's no song. How can we dance?"
"Uh-huh! Princess! Have you forgotten I have the ability to hear any sound from anywhere and presently I can hear a romantic song, so shall we?
"Yeah! Fine!" He hummed the song obviously for Marinette to hear and she was not at all good at dancing. She tripped many times but everytime chat noir would catch her.
"You are a dancing wreck! Princess!" He exclaimed trying to suppress his laughter.
"That's not so funny! kitty!"
"After your date, can you wait for me on your balcony? You have stolen something from me and I want to know whether I have stolen the same thing from you or not?"
"Yes of course! Kitty!"
"What did I steal from him?" Marinette thought.
"Well I think we should probably go home now. You don't want to be late for your date. Do you?" He said playfully.
"Probably not."
"So hold on tight! My princess."
She clutched tightly to chat noir's neck and they went home.
