Chemo begins

Aria Pov

I woke up with a smile on my face after last night but then in a second reality hit that my chemo was beginning today and I was so nervous. I was thankful to Mike and Hanna who were both going to be with me today. I had made it clear to my parents they couldn't be.

I got changed into sweatpants and a hoddie I knew after the chemo I wouldn't have energy to get changed so this would be easier.

I walked down the stairs and my parents pulled me in a hug. They had a massive breakfast for me which I was thankful for as I knew I wouldn't feel like anything after the chemo.

As we ate breakfast we made small talk to help distract me from today when my phone buzzed it was a text from Ezra I read it "I will miss you today" I smiled at this and quickly replied "You too".

When I finished up my breakfast Hanna arrived she let herself in and straight away hugged me tight and for the first time all morning I refused to let go I was scared and I knew Hanna knew that.

"You guys should be going" My dad spoke up before hugging me "You will be fine Aria I love you" I hugged back and told him "I love you too" before doing the same with my mum.

Mike and I hopped in the back of the car while Hanna drove. Mike and I sat close together and he held my hand the whole way which calmed me down a bit I was so grateful to have a brother like Mike

A while later we arrived at the hospital carpark. All three of us got out of the car and started walking inside the hospital. Mike and Hanna each had an arm around me I knew that they knew I was nervous.

When we got into the hospital I was straight away greeted by Dr Hudson who over the years had become a friend he was in his late 20s and I was his patient on his first day of intern year and have been since. He immediately hugged me and did the same with Mike before looking at Hanna and speaking " I'm Dr Hudson but you can call me Mason" Hanna smiled and introduced herself "I'm Hanna"  

Dr Hudson lead us to my room for the day. He promised he was staying with us all day which I was grateful for. When I walked in I could see a chair with rug and pillows set out and a machine next to it. I felt even more nervous when Mason spoke up "Aria you will be fine, Mike, Hanna and I will be here the whole time" I smiled at this before sitting on the chair. 

"Ready to begin Aria" I nodded at this as Mason hooked an IV  filled with drugs that was meant to help me into my arm. I knew the effects would kick in very soon. We were chatting and laughing which helped Mason even told me about how his girlfriend cheated on him and I was so upset but he said he was fine and just hugged me. I knew he deserved better.

It was three hours later and the drugs were still coming into me when my phone buzzed "Mike can you grab that" Mike did as I told him and went to my bag and grabbed it "It is Ezra" I smiled at this and looked at Mike "What does it say?" I needed something good today these drugs were getting to me. "It says he loves and misses you and asks if you want to hang out tonight" I knew I couldn't tonight and I also knew Mason was trying to figure out who Ezra was he was looking from me to Mike to Hanna as I spoke to Mike " Tell him I love and miss him and that we have bro sis time tonight" Mike nodded as Hanna looked at me "It was the best I came up with" Mason was the one to speak up this time "He doesn't know you have cancer" I shook my man and Hanna spoke up " No and he older he her teacher and they are dating" Mason just hugs me "I'm glad your happy Aria and I won't say anything but you should tell him" Mike had now sent the text and all three looked at me all I said was " I can't"

It was now two hours later Mike, Hanna and I had arrived home a hour ago and I had been throwing up ever since. I felt like crap but the texts from Ezra was keeping me going. I was curled up on the couch next to Mike and a trashcan we were watching the Notebook as it was the only thing that cheered me up when my phone buzzed it was from Ezra "Good night my angel I love you" I smiled and replied "I love you too sleep well xx" after this Mike and I curled up on the couch
