Chapter 13: Christmas, returning to school and the Philosopher's stone

Third Person point of view

Christmas morning dawned bright and early. Surprisingly it wasn't any of the Russell's who were up first but rather the Weasley children who were going around to everyone's door to wake them up. After Ron woke up Harry, the two boys decided to go and wake up Lizzie and Hermione.

"Wake up, wake up. It's Christmas" Ron and Harry shouted barging into Lizzie's room where moments ago both Lizzie and Hermione were in deep slumber. "Go away boys" said Hermione pulling the covers over her head. "Wake up please Lizzie, you guys are still the only ones in bed" begged Harry giving her puppy dog eyes while Ron tried to get an irritated Hermione up. "Alright, we are up. Please leave the room so we can get ready" answered Lizzie reluctantly still sounding half asleep. To which Harry gave her a broad smile before leaving the room with Ron allowing the girls to get ready.

When Hermione and Lizzie reach down stairs to the main living area where the Christmas tree resides, Ron exclaims "Finally you are down here. Your Mum wouldn't let anyone touch them until everyone was up and downstairs". "Patience is a virtue Ron" said Lizzie joining her sister Grace on the couch giving a big yawn, while Hermione took the arm chair next to it. At this point, Percy rose from his seat and started sorting through the mountain of gifts that was under the tree. Lizzie received quite a lot this year. She received from:

Harry – A friendship charm bracelet paired with a quaffle charm in remembrance of playing quidditch together and some muggle Brittish candy.

Ron – a basket containing an assortment of wizarding sweets including: Berty Botts Every flavour beans, chocolate frogs, jelly slugs and liquorice wands.

Hermione – Two books, her own copy of "Quidditch through the Ages" and "A wizards guide to art and photography" which contains how you can make pictures move, preserve them, etc" which would be handy once Lizzie starts drawing again, she didn't think she would have time at Hogwarts at first.

Grace – A yearly planner for next year and a book "An encyclopaedia of wizardry and witchcraft" which contained all sorts of chapters on spells, magical creatures, objects, potions and enchantments just to list a few. An undetectable extension charm so there is more to it that meets the eye and a feather weight charm was on it so the book wasn't back breaking heavy.

Lorrie – New art supplies kit, that included: metallic and neuro coloured paints, coloured pencils, lead pencils, eraser, sharpener, textas (including one think black one used for outlining), paint brushes and a blank A4 sized spiralled notepad.

Mum and Dad – An assortment of teas and candles to take to Hogwarts that Cassie had prepared.

Brandon and Tara – A portable piano and two music books filled to the brim with songs and scales she can practice with at Hogwarts, if it won't disturb anyone in the common room with the words so she can sing while she plays, if she wants.

Grandpa – some new clothes, mostly with the colours magenta or purple being Lizzie's favourite colours.

Fred and George – An assortment of pranking products from Zonko's joke shop in Hogsmeade.

Mrs Weasley – A knitted magenta Weasley sweater with a shiny red quaffle on it and some homemade treacle.

Anthony – A book entitled "Historical runes through the ages" which basically was an encyclopaedia of ancient runes translated that are from a muggles point of view said to do magic but they actually do according to witches (not that he knew Lizzie was magical) and the newest Sherlock Holmes novel.
