That Saturday was the first quidditch match of the season, Gryffindor verses Slytherin. Currently, the quartet were with the rest of their housemates enjoying pre-game breakfast. "Have a bit of toast, go on mate" encouraged Ron trying to get Harry to eat; "I'm not hungry" Harry stubbornly replied with before being startled by Professor Snape. "Good day Mr Potter, now that you've proven yourself against a troll. A little game of quidditch should be easy work for you" said Snape sneering before limping away. "That explains the blood" muttered Harry watching Snape's retreating figure as said Professor limped towards the teachers table. "Blood, what blood" questioned Hermione. "Listen, my theory is that Professor Snape let the troll in as a distraction to get past the dog but he got himself bitten. That's why he's limping" elaborated Harry. "But why would he go near that dog? I mean I know he is a shifty figure that seems to scream regret and remorse but I don't think he is the type" enquires Lizzie. "I concur with Lizzie in that he wouldn't steal the stone because he is a teacher" stated Hermione agreeing with her friend. "Honestly, you two visualise teachers as gods" exclaimed Ron throwing up his arms in exasperation.
At that point Wood approached the four and said "Come on Potter and Russell, we have a game to play" before walking out the Great Hall followed by their other team members. "Good luck you two, you will do fantastic" said Ron in encouragement. "Yeah we will be cheering for you guys" said Hermione giving them a confident smile. "Thanks" said Harry and Lizzie before following the rest of the Gryffindor team.

Later, my team mates and I were waiting for Wood's pre-game pep talk in the communal area of the team changing rooms. We could hear the stomping and chatter of the other students as they filled the stands. "Alright gang, it is pristine conditions out there for a game of quidditch with lots of cloud cover so we shouldn't have any issues with the sun. The only thing is for the chasers to note that there is a westerly wind at the moment that is strong enough to affect the direction the quaffle will travel in. In addition to being mindful of the sun if the cloud breaks or you go above the cloud cover. Beaters should also probably take note of the wind on second thought just in case it is strong enough to affect the bludgers. Other than that, go team. We have better players this year than last year and we have new blood to bringing new talent. Let's go team" stated Wood excitedly prompting the rest of us to put our hands in the middle before lifting them up while saying "Go Gryffindor".
The team then went to the take off point to prepare for take off and to fly around the pitch. While waiting Harry was beside Wood and I was positioned behind Harry our brooms at the ready to be mounted. Wood asked Harry and I "Nervous you two?" "A little" admitted Harry and me quietly in unison. Wood tried to reassure us "Eh, it's totally normal to be nervous for your first match. I know I was". "What happened?" enquired Harry curiously. "Well, I don't really remember. I took a bludger to the head halfway through and woke up in the hospital a week later" reminisced Wood. 'Harry why did you have to ask. That is not helping Wood, at least not for me' I thought groaning to myself. Just then the curtain rose, the team mounted their brooms and took off to circle the pitch.

As the curtains rose, players on both teams soared around the pitch and interweaved the goal posts to the shouting of the crowed. The stadium was packed a quarter of the crowed were decked out in green and silver clothing items or had flags with the Slytherin colours and logo. While, the other three quarters of the crowed were decked out in red and gold in similar ways to the Slytherins Even members of Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff have chosen a side, most of which were cheering for Gryffindor hoping for a Gryffindor win. At the northern end of the pitch, is the teacher's stand where any professor who wishes could come and watch.
