Mr Alex found Henry lying motionless on the green grass. He tout de suite took Henry in his arms and rushed inside.
Henry's eyes opened after about fifteen minutes and he found himself lying on the bed, in Mr Alex's room. Steffi stood with a stuff toy rabbit clenched in her arms neatly bound around her body. "Are you fine now?" questioned Steffi as she approached Henry. He nodded his head. The door opened and Mr Alex came in with a smile on his face. "Thank God you're awake so early! How're you feeling now?" asked Mr Alex taking his seat beside the bed. " I feel quite well now." "Oh! What's better than that!" sighed Mr Alex. "The doctor said that whatever it was, dehydration or headache, you recovered from it astoundingly fast! How did you do that?" Henry gave him a confused look, "Well, I....I don't know". "Anyway! It's good to see you well!" said Mr Alex, his sunkissed face beaming from satisfaction and left the room. Moments later, there were loud shouts of some serious squabble coming into Henry's room. "They've been ramming this way since you fell I'll" said Steffi with much wrinkling of her face.
The following days were quite stressful for the Edevanes, especially for Henry. Mrs Edevane never left a chance to overburden Henry with some absurd household work when Mr Alex and Steffi both were out. Whenever Mr Alex got to know of something, he would lose his temper. There were frequent fracas between the couple. Mr Alex was fed up of his wife's strange attitude towards a little boy. He got irritated with the stern replies of his wife. After each brawl with Mr Alex, Mrs Edevane looked for the right time to blow out all her anger on Henry. Henry had to do jobs like washing huge piles of dishes, mopping the whole house, clean their extremely disarranged garage, polishing shoes and all other sort if jobs that would please the niggard desires of Mrs Edevane.
1 WEEK LATER..
There was no word from the Banffs. Henry was having a hard time with Mrs Edevane. But still Mr Alex's affection towards him gave him some relief. He didn't told Mr Alex anything about what he had to do when he was out. He didn't wanted them to quarrel because of him.
In the black of night, there was a knock at the door Henry's room. The knock continued. Steffi was completely lost in her dreams. The continuous knocks woke up Henry.
