I jolt upright, panting, certain that I'm about to die, only to find myself sat safely on solid ground, on my sleeping mat. The sun sleeps below the horizon, but there's a slight glow to the horizon, as if the sun is preparing to rise. As I slowly begin to calm down from the panic that enveloped me during that dream, I see a strange white light emanating from my pack.

Confused, I pull on the strings that keep it closed, even as Taehyung begins to stir, clearly disturbed by my dramatic reaction to waking up. Right at the top sits the mirror I was holding when I was found in the river, the symbols on its wooden frame glowing faintly. My eyes widen, and I turn it over and over in my hands, searching for an explanation.

Then it hits me.

What if the mirror is my connection to magic? What if that golden river of energy I saw, in the vision I had during my dreams, was magic itself? What if this mirror is my way to access information that would otherwise be completely closed to me? And the only way to get that is through visions, dreams that tell me something that could happen, something that I need to know?

"Jungkook?" Taehyung's voice is quiet, baffled, sleepy, but I jump all the same, startled for some reason. "Are you okay? Why'd you get your mirror out? What's going on?"
"I had another weird dream," I respond, as honestly as I can, glancing over at him, "and when I woke up, this was glowing at the top of my pack. I was just looking at it, trying to figure out what its deal is."

He sits up, runs a hand through his messy hair, yawns. "Well...the prophecy stated that the Saviour would be holding broken glass, didn't it? And the mirror broke, at one stage, and then was fixed. Does it hold some connection for you, to Eithyr's energy flow?" He freezes the moment the words are out of his mouth, and I know that he's made the same conclusion that I have. "That would make sense."

I nod in agreement, running my hand over the engraved symbols on the frame, the whorls and lines deeper than I originally expected. "I mean, it fixed itself when I held it," I point out. "That must mean it's important in some way. And whenever I look at the symbols on the frame, I feel some sort of link with them."

"What did you see in your dream? What did it tell you this time?"
"Who saw what in what dream?" Namjoon mumbles, rolling from one side to another and then pushing himself up. He sees the mirror, still faintly glowing in my hands. "Why is it doing that? What did you do?"

Taehyung smiles a little, an expression that seems almost tired in nature. "We might as well wake up the other two. If this is as important as I think it is, we will have to discuss it as a group." Namjoon goes pale.
"Are you mad? Yoongi will kill me!" he argues. "You know what he's like when you wake him up without warning."

"Yoongi loves you, Joon. He'd kill me, but he'd forgive you eventually," Taehyung corrects his brother, and Namjoon blushes slightly.
"Alright, fine. But if I die, it's your fault." Taehyung rolls his eyes.
"Stop stalling."

Yoongi and Seokjin wake up surprisingly quickly, without much complaint, encouraging me to describe my dream in as much detail as possible. Slowly, I explain the entire thing, painfully aware of the growing horror on the faces of my listeners. By the time I get to the end, the instruction to visit a place known as Shylrennor, all four are pale, almost terrified. I mention the name itself, and they all recoil like they've been slapped.

"From now on, Jungkook, please don't say its name," Namjoon begs, and I nod in understanding, feeling almost guilty.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ruin the mood this morning. I just felt like...the last time I had a dream like this, it sparked our whole journey. It wouldn't make sense for me to completely ignore it, and say it never happened."
"We completely understand," Seokjin reassures me, but the troubled look on his face remains, even so.
