"Jungkook, are you okay?"
As my eyes open, I realise that Taehyung is gently shaking me, in an attempt to wake me up. When he realises that it's working, he backs off slightly, to give me space as I blink the blurriness out of my vision. "Wha-"
"You were tossing and turning in your sleep," Jimin's voice supplies, and I turn to see the pixie watching me with concern. "It's still slightly tainted, but I didn't think it was possible for people to still get terrors here. I'm sorry. And after the dreams you've already had, it can't have been fun."I run a hand through my hair, and realise that my forehead is hot and almost damp. But when I tilt my head questioningly at Taehyung, he seems to understand the unspoken question. "I didn't detect any sickness. It might have just been the dream," he suggests, shrugging.
I nod, glancing around me as my eyes finally start to work properly. It must be about dawn, because the tiny valley we're in is covered with a blanket of deep golden light. Now that our conversation has paused, I can just about hear the gentle shuffling and rustling of animals beginning to wake up. As I squint down the valley, hand shading my eyes, I catch sight of Hoseok, kneeling down as he did in my dream.
The sky is clear, and just a few wispy clouds are visible on the horizon. The pale blue of early morning is tinted with sandy yellow at the edges, but I can't see the sun yet.
"Be on the lookout for trouble." At my words, both Jimin and Taehyung send me a surprised glance. Then Taehyung shifts closer, gazing directly at me, concerned. "Did you have another vision?" I nod. "What did you see?"
"I saw the creation of a sword," I start, quietly. "Then I was transported to the Cursed Tower. There was a person there, dressed in a black cloak, which had all these fancy red decorations on it. And then the tower fell, and I saw Taju, the big mountain to the east."
"You saw a Karulian Knight," Jimin interrupts, his soft voice even softer than usual."You saw one. At the Cursed Tower." He takes a deep, shaky breath, flattening his hands and trying to calm himself down. "This is fine. This is absolutely fine. We're going to be totally fine."Then he buries his head in his hands, and my chest tightens, when I realise that this place is all he has, that he's built this little shelter in the mountains with the man he loves, and it's being taken away from him. I don't even know what he's lost before now. What nightmares are held within his mind. If the vision is true, if there really is someone there, this entire universe he's created could be shattered in a moment.
Taehyung holds up a hand, a sympathetic expression on his face. "Let's get everyone over here, and then Jungkook can explain everything he saw just once, to us all. Before we jump to conclusions, let's see what else the dream entailed. It may be that we have some time. Or maybe they won't even come here."
Before anyone can call out, or even gesture, a green glow emerges from my right, and I glance over to see Aphelia, beside the remains of last night's fire. A faint humming is audible, and then Taehyung nods slightly. "They're on their way."
As I glance around again, I catch sight of where everyone is. Namjoon and Yoongi are approaching us from just beside the pool. There's a thud as something falls to the ground, and Seokjin emerges from behind the tree. Hoseok, clutching a clump of shining metal in his arms, appears from somewhere in the centre of the valley. By the time everyone gets here, Taehyung has a reassuring hand on Jimin's shoulder, talking to him in a low, gentle tone.
I explain my dream quickly, as simply as I can, finishing with the image of Taju k'Eithyr watching over the rubble at Shylrennor, the flash of symbols, the supporting energy. When I'm finished, all six of them sit in silence, just absorbing the information, processing it, trying to figure out what it could mean.
