The hot shower in a private bathroom was everything I needed. The water pressure was immaculate. I didn't realize how tense my shoulders were until they relaxed under the hot water. When I got back from the store Will was eating so I decided not to push things.
I got products and oil for my hair, a wide tooth comb and a bunch hair ties. I finally bought some underwear in my size and some comfy clothes. Some shorts, dresses, and t-shirts for the hot weather and a flecce jacket for the cold nights. Picked up some chap stick, toothbrushes, and lotion. Even some deodorant and perfume. Who said that just because I was on the run I couldn't smell nice.
I scrubbed the dirt off my body taking my time in the shower. It was much needed. The steam was engulfing me entirely. Encasing me as I stood under the running water.
After I was done I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around myself. Taking the wide tooth comb and some hair products I detangled and split the hair down the middle. I tied my hair into two neat low buns on either side. I felt so refreshed.
"What are you talking about Nicky?" I heard Will's voice through the bathroom door. "Yeah I get it! Just-stop, yes I know. Its the Holiday Inn on biscuit avenue," He said.
I creaked the door open a little. Will had the phone up to his ear. His back was once again facing me. He was wearing another plain black t-shit, I wondering how many he bought. Instead of sweatpants we wore jeans. His hair was still wet, his usual style after he showered, slicked back with a few strands hanging loose in the front. "See you in a bit," He said hanging up the phone.
I closed the door and finished getting dressed. I guess Nick was on his way to the hotel.

Knock Knock
Ten minutes had passed. We were sitting on the couch eating the takeout silence. When life is exciting you forget to take care of yourself. I was definitely hungrier than I thought.
Will got up to answer the door. It was around nine thirty at night. It must have been short shift, then again he was late. "This a nice place you got here! Tryna impress your girl right? What's it gotta take for you to take me somewhere this nice? Huh?" Nick said walking inside.
"Hey darlin!" He waved as I came into his veiw. I waved back unable to say anything because I was still chewing food. Nick was no longer wearing his work uniform. He dressed in black from head to toe. Black jeans, black shirt, and a little black circle beanie on top of his head.
"I brought you guys a some beer," He said lifting up a white plastic bag that was carrying a case of corona. "Stop trynna butter me up and tell me why your here Nick," Will said. "Hey! Can't someone do something nice for there cousin for no reason? See, this is what I was talking about on the phone, your too stiff Will. I get it's a 'hard knock life' or whatever but you gotta enjoy yourself a little more or your gonna start going crazy," Nick said. "Has he been giving you a hard time? Acting crazy?" Nick asked.
I thought for a moment. His bipolar attitude, him racing the car in the middle of the night, banging his head and bleeding. The scar now which was a little red line just underneath his hairline, barely noticeable. Yeah, he had been acting fucking insane.
I swallowed my food. "Yes he definitely has," I replied. I don't why I kinda thought that behavior was normal, but he was just under a lot of stress. Even if he was trying to hide it under his cocky attitude. He was going through a lot.
Will ignored my reply. He only sat back down on the couch. "So your here for no reason other than to give me beer? You want nothing else?" Will asked. Nick stared at him blank faced. "Well..." Nick started.
"I fuckin' knew it! What is it? Want me to go after that guy yelling at you earlier? Or what? A job for Jimmy? Because no, I don't wanna get mixed up in that shit, the last time that happened I ended with a gun to my head by some guy from the Sinaloa cartel. I don't fuck with the cartel no matter how much the money is," He said.
"No! Its nothing like that. It's not even Jimmy's job its mine. Just here me out, the payday might just make it your last job. It'll definitely be enough for Jax and the hospital and then some," He said. I smiled, another way. This could be his chance to stop robbing places.
"Were in!" I said. "Woah, no Maria. It's probably not what you think it is," Will said. "Don't speak for the lady Will! How many times I gotta remind you of your manners. Darlin, I'm really starting to understand why my cousin is keeping you around, beautiful and ambitious. I like you," Nick said.
"Will, this is our chance. No more robbing people. One last job and you can go back to them," I pleaded. "Woah, don't get ahead of yourself there, who said you weren't gonna rob someone?" Nick asked. My face fell.
"See? It's just the same shit," Will said falling back into the couch. "You didn't even hear me out!" Nick said. "I don't have to, if the payday is big then so is the risk," Will said. "C'mon! Just listen, I already set it up and its not that dangerous if you can slip out of there undetected," Nick said.
"How much?" Will asked. "Somewhere between five hundred to a mill," Nick answered. My eyes bugged out of my head. Will sat up on the edge of the sofa. "What's the job?" He asked. "Nothing crazy! No guns or masks, you just gotta walk in undetected and walk out with the cash," Nick said.
"What?" Will asked. "Yeah, the jobs at the hotel. Every month a couple hot shot guests get together and play a high stakes poker game in the presidential suite. They carry suit cases of real cash with them to buy in. Apparently a buddy of mine who works as a waiter says they leave the suitcases unattended because nobody else is allowed on they floor while they play," He explained. "How do you know its that much money?" Will asked.
"I got another friend who works in the safe. They have to count it to make sure it's all there before sending the suitcases up. Some of the guys carry in five hundred, some seven fifty, some a mill. Sometimes it varies in between but either way that's a lot of cash," Nick said.
"You said nobody's allowed on the floor, how would I get in? Pretend to be a waiter?" Will asked. I? Was he planning so leave me behind. "No, you can't just get hired as a waiter at the hotel. Trust me I tried. You need to be professional or some shit and even then they might not even call you up to serve at the game. Plus they could easily find out who you are, there's only four waiters per game and if you get hired the hotel has your personal information, trust me I have thought about," Nick said.
"So how are you gonna get me in?" Will said. Nick looked back and forth between us. "Actually I'm gonna have to get both of you in. As guests, players of the game," He said. "Why does she need to go?" He asked. "Because you don't know how to act. She does, or she seems like she does," Nick said. "I know how to act! What I'm not fancy enough?" Will said.
Nick stared at him blankly. "Call you over the matradee and ask him to pour a glass of sauvignon blanc," Nick said. "Huh?" Will asked. Nick raised his eyebrows. "Call over the matradee. Ask him to pour a glass of sauvignon blanc," Nick said speaking slower. "The fuck are you talking about? Can you stop being stupid for five minutes?" Will bursted.
"Darling?" Nick asked. "Call over the head waiter and ask him to pour a glass of white wine," I said. Will looked at me. "You understood that?" He asked. "You didn't?" I asked. "I rest my case. You wouldn't fit in , no offense but gutter trash like us stick out like a sore thumb," He said. "Look at her, she carries grace, class, she could fit im real good," Nick said. Will rolled his eyes.
"And she seems a little cultured," Nick said. I shrugged. "I like to read," I said. "She likes to read! Does it get classier then that?" He said.
"So what's the plan?" Will asked. I smiled.
