Ghosts are born after people die, but Crystal was special. She was born as a ghost, right from her mother's womb, because she sacrificed herself to save her own sister. She can't touch anything or anyone with a life force.
Crystal dislikes her siste...

Ever since I have discovered about my so foreign powers, only one thought has been running across my mind: Whose child, if not King Lexon's, lives in Queen Nebula's womb? My mind was rushing through multiple possibilities, like the mind of an overthinker. Perhaps Queen Nebula had been in love before and this was the result of their interactions or maybe she has been cheat-No, I could not think of my Queen in such an inappropriate manner at any cost. Yet, I could not help but wonder if King Lexon knew of this mistake. I was confident that even if I did bring up this topic, and that is a big if, I would have to lead with some evidence for I am sure he cannot know of my mind-reading powers for unsaid reasons.
Unsaid reasons? Oh, you mean if Lexon finds out that his friend can read minds now, he might kill you? Ah, yes. That is how Chereans are treated, Hedwig, but you can't just stay still!
It was him, again. Ever since I had traveled to my mind with Miss Maud, something inside me had changed. I had started reading minds, of course, but I also began feeling more confident and I heard Oscuro all the time. He was not a terribly evil man, Oscuro, he was rather funny to me. Although I shut him down most of the time, he was right when it came to such topics, for he knew about them far more than I did.
I whispered to him, checking sideways, in the hope of no one announcing me as insane, "No, that is untrue. King Lexon has supported me ever since I came to the Celion Royals, he treated me like family. I only wish for him to not misunderstand Queen Nebula or else he'll be heartbroken, he will. Now, shush."
All right, all right. But, you will regret not heeding my words one day, Hedwig, you will. In the meantime, however, let's get some evidence, shall we?
I ignored him, again, and continued to wander around, searching for someone who might be naive yet knowing of the happenings of this castle. Alas, no one was naive, but no one knew of anything either. I almost gave up when I saw Princess Crystal heading my way, my first instinct was to avoid her out of shame, but my inner voice had other plans.
Go on lad, ask her. Talk to her.
"What are you talking about? I possibly cannot. What would I tell her? How would I face her? Does she have any respect left for me, now? Do I even have a chance?"
Young love, I tell you. Ask her about Nebula, you fool."
Right. That was what I meant, I mean, wh- Nevermind. Wouldn't she be suspicious of me, though?"
Only one way to find out, Hedwig.
"Princess Crystal," I bowed to her slightly, my eyes still not meeting hers.
"Hedwig, such a coincidence to meet you...near the servant chambers?" She smiled a little, maybe.
"About the incident earlier today, I am so very sorry about it. I should have never done such horrendous acts. I truly do apologize."
Kiss her hand, go on.
I took her slender fingers in my hand and delicately pressed my lips onto her tight skin. Her nails, I noticed now, were tinted red and grown longer than normal Royals would. As I touched her fingers more carefully, I observed that her fingers seemed that of an instrumentalist, a guitarist perhaps. I let a chuckle out, Princess Crystal let a gasping sound out instead.
"Whatever made you laugh, Hedwig?"
"I noticed your fingers look like you practice guitar, Princess Crystal."
"And that is funny because...?"
"Well, you're just unique, nothing funny about the matter."
"Unique? How so?"
"Well, normally Royals aren't taught guitar, they play the piano. They also keep their nails shorter and wear heavy costumes, they adorn themselves with the finest diamonds, and they worry so much about their hair that they brush it at least 6 times a day."
"Are you trying to insult me, Hedwig?"
"Insult? God, I would never insult someone so precious!"
There was a moment of silence and I suppose this is when the couple would lean in for a kiss, but Oscuro spoke up again before any leaning could be possible.
Boy, don't you think of that! Unless you want her to condemn you and never speak a word, you cannot kiss her, again! Now, knock it off and ask her about Nebula, would you?
"All right, I get it!" I spoke loudly, instead of in my mind and I regretted it the instant words came out of my mouth.
"Get what? are you fine, Hedwig?"
"Sorry, it is my headache, really."
"Ah, yes. Tía Maud explained to me about your situation. In fact, now that I remember, that is exactly my purpose of coming here. I was about to get you some woolen blankets for you still seem frail, Hedwig." She beamed a smile at me while walking as I tried reading her thoughts to find out what she truly felt about me. But, I couldn't. I passed it as a possible fault in my powers for they are still very new or maybe a side-effect of true love, I truly hoped for the latter.
"Hedwig, your fever must be terrible! You can't even hear me anymore," she smirked at me, again.
The girl seems a little too friendly to you, don't you think?
"She is just being nice to a sick, young, handsome man. Why does it bother you so much, Oscuro?" I said, this time, in my mind.
He went silent. Good. But, he had planted the thought already. She was trembling when she last saw me and now all of a sudden, she is being so amiable, why?
"Princess Crystal, if I may ask you something?"
"I don't let many question me, but do go on, Hedwig."
"Why are you acting so sweetly to me, especially after I acted so violently and indecently with you?"
She took a pause from walking towards the blankets, turned back towards me, and replied, "Hedwig, tía Maud told me that such things can often occur through mind-traveling or whatever that is called, so I understand you were vulnerable and not at your best. It happens to everyone, we all become too vulnerable and weak, not just you. It was just a kiss. Besides, tía has asked me specifically to look after your well-being, therefore, I will comply."
She concluded with a faint smile on her kissable lips and continued walking until she reached the blankets and held them in her dainty arms, which were strong for three heavily stitched blankets.
"So, 'just a kiss', did that mean anything to you?" I knew I was pushing her too much, but I had to know if she had any feelings or chance thereof in her heart, for me.
