I woke up with a start and against my will looked around for Richard and Elizabeth, but all I saw was blank white walls. I was laying in a bed, with white light sheets that I pulled tighter against me. Next to the bed was a glass table that had a glass of water filled high, but besides that it was empty.

The room had a couch in the left corner that was vacant. The blinds were closed, and it was dim but I could tell that the walls were compltey white and the floor was made of smoothe tile. A faint beep beep noise was coming from a machine next to me, and when I turned I could see a green line that went up and down, and figured that it was my heartbeat.

I was wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt that was much too big to be mine or even Jasons. Where the hell was I and how to I get here?

The door to the room suddenly swung open, banging against the wall and a dark shilloutte that I couldn't quite make out walked in. I let out a scream, figuring that it was Dester trying to kill me and the shadow screamed in responce and the lights were flipped on.

I let out a breathe. "Dammit Zayn you scared me half to death!" I screamed, sitting back in the bed.

I sat back up and studied him, looking for any signs of damage.

He looked okay. He was in jeans and a black leather-jacket, but his hair was still messed up and if I looked closely enough I could see the burns on his hands. He let out a low chuckle and said, "You're awake."

"Yes. I'm awake. And I want to know where the hell I am."

Zayn laughed again. "Hospital in Virgina. We're about thirty miles out from the gas station where all shit broke lose."

Gas station?

Oh my god.

Derven.

"There was a fire," I whispered, more to myself than to Zayn. .

Zayn nodded, walking over and I could see that his tanned cheeks were kind of flushed red, either from heat or anger. "Yeah. Do you remember everything?"

I did. The fire, and the flying, and the tubes being forced down my throat-

"Yeah." I stopped, not sure what to say. Then, "How did you get away from Dester? And what about the boys? And Jason? Are they okay? How did I get here? What about-"

"Sssssh," Zayn shushed me and sat down on my bed. "I'll explain." And he did. About how his boss put him up to this and how Derven wasn't real. That, I must admit, was probably the most shocking thing he told me, even more shocking than the reality TV show. The fact that the man I have feared for the past two years of my life wasn't even reallly a real person, just a character that medial had made up...that was weird.

It was wrong.

"Everyone's okay," Zayn finished. "We're all here."

Everythings going to be okay.

"You pulled me out of the fire," I said, looking up at him, "Right?"

He looked down and his cheeks turned even redder, "Yeah, I guess so." Was he blushing?

I shifted in the bed, "So you saved me."

He shrugged, "We take care of each other."

I looked up at him, saw his dark brown shining eyes and the little bit of stubble that was appearing around his chin and suddenly had the deep, deep urge to kiss him.

But he beat me to it.

He kissed me gently and softy, but with a hunger behind it. I wrapped my arms around his neck and flinched, pain shooting up my shoulders and down my spine but not caring enough to stop.

He pulled apart, gasping even though it had just been for a second or two.

My heartbeat monitor was going crazy. BeepBeepBeepBeepBeep

"I'm uhm, I'm sorry," he said.

"Why?" I breathed out.

He looked up startled. "You're not mad?"

"Why would I be?" My heart was still going insane.

"I just thought that you'd-"

Instead of letting him talk, I kissed him again.

"Jason's going to kill me," he whispered.

"Not as long as I'm around," I answered.

"No he'll kill me. But it's worth it."

I was so happy that my heartbeat stopped all together, making Zayn flinch and then laugh at me. "What am I going to do with you?"

"Kiss me some more."

And he did.
