Without any previous advice, SM Entertainment released in their Youtube channel a teaser contained a song sample with Red Velvet's Seulgi and NCT 127's Savannah. The internet exploded with what the fans believed that would be a new song for their group SUPER G but after 3 hours of pure fandom, conspiration SM released a note revealing that it was, in fact, a new duo named S&S.
There was also held a conference with both Seulgi and Savannah. They said that SM first told them about this project and both accepted at the spot.
"I was really looking forward to working with Seulgi Unnie. We know each other since we're trainees and I honestly love how she sings and dance. It is really fun when we work together at SUPER G and working at this new project was also amazing, I hope our fans can enjoy the song just as much as we did." Savannah said at the conference.
"We made a new concept that we didn't try in any of our groups so I think many fans will be surprised about the MC or the song itself. But I believe they will like it a lot." Seulgi said laughing with Savannah. "Savannah worked really hard helping with the lyrics and producing the title song Monster and I think the concept chosen really suits at her."
SM stated that it will be released an EP with 4 new songs and 1 bonus track song by Seulgi. It's not new to the fans that both Seulgi and Savannah are friends for 10 years and their new sub-unit is a reflection of their friendship and own style of music. The MV and songs will be released on 07/07/2020 but till then SM left the curious fans with two conceptual teasers.
