With only a week left of his punishment, Matthew's mental state was beginning to slowly deteriorate. He doesn't care about not being able to leave the house alone, all he wants is to use his precious laptop at least once. It's been so long! Normally Matthew is a very obedient boy, but temptation is one hell of a drug.

Well, it turns out that Matthew's not the only child in the Kirkland-Bonnefoy household who is under punishment.

Even though her parents are thrilled with her using English to ask for things that she wants, they feel as if she has almost an addiction to their candy jar. They found out that when she's unsupervised, she'll take as much candy as she wants. Therefore, the poor girl was given prohibition of candy for the rest of the summer.

"Okay Matthew, you know the rules. No answering the door to anyone and do not let Michelle have candy under any circumstances. No matter how cute she is." Papa said as he grabbed the rest of the bags they'd be needing. Today Alfred has a basketball event that only players and their parents are allowed to attend. So, as usual, Matthew is stuck watching his sister.

"Oui, Papa. I know, I know. Now you guys go have fun! And don't worry about us!"

And with that, Papa slammed the door, leaving his two children home alone. Matthew has six hours alone to himself? Perfect! Now to sneak on that laptop of his...

Matthew was pretty surprised when he saw his laptop just sitting atop his parent's bedroom ottoman. They really don't make an effort at hiding, do they? So, Matthew simply picked up the Macbook and brought it into his now shared bedroom.

Oh, how he missed this thing... For at least an hour and a half, Matthew was playing the heck out of the Sims 4 and Minecraft. They were two of his favorite games. For another half-hour, he was chatting online with a few of his friends on Discord, who were wondering where the hell he had been.

Matthew was on a call with his friend Carlos from Miami, when his sister barged in the door. "Matthew! You can't do that! Papa said!" she scolded before running into her room.

"Shit..." Matthew muttered, quickly ending the call with his friend. He'll apologize later. Right now he has a sister to deal with.

As Matthew was about to walk through her bedroom door, he heard loud chewing and plastic crinkling sounds. He waited a moment before entering the door to find his sister munching on a handful of Sixlets. The girl gasped.

"Matthew!"

Is he allowed to call a seven year-old a hypocrite? "Michelle! Papa said you're not allowed, remember?"

Michelle sheepishly nodded and began to cry. Matthew sighed and hopped up on the bed next to her. He remembers when he used to cry for every little thing when he was her age.

"Doesn't Dad count the candy in the jar at the end of the day?"

Michelle looked up at him, tears in her eyes. Matthew pulled her into a hug and soothingly rubbed her back.

"I said, 'Dad compte les bonbons?' Does Dad count the candy?"

Michelle shook her head. "Yes... But he does not know... I um... J'échange le bonbon avec des gouttes contre la toux..."

"You say you swap the candy with cough drops?" Matthew's eyes widened in surprise. That's actually pretty smart for a seven year-old.

"Do not tell Papa..." she cried, clinging tightly onto her brother.

Matthew frowned. It was his first time seeing his sister like this, and he hated it. "Michelle, look at me." he commanded, drying off her tears when she finally complied. "Don't cry over this. Do you know what a sibling is?"

Michelle shook her head.

"Well I am your sibling. A sibling is un frère ou une soeur. Understand?"

"Ou-Yes. I am your sibling."

"Very good. You learned what a secret is from the TV yesterday... So why don't we agree to keep both these things a secret? You don't tell Papa or Dad about me using the laptop, and I won't tell him about you eating the candy! It can be our own Sibling Secret! Do you understand?"

Michelle nodded and let out a sniffle with a smile. "Sibling Secret? I like that."

The two of them spent the rest of the afternoon watching movies on Netflix. Matthew didn't really mind not being on his laptop. Spending time with his sister is more important.

As Matthew sat in front of Michelle's dollhouse, waiting to play with her, he heard a crash and the sound of glass shattering from the living room. When he ran to see what it was, Michelle stood right next to a broken vase. Specifically the vase their parents got when they went to China, that dates back to the early Ming Dynasty.

Michelle gave Matthew an innocent and pleading smile. "Sibling Secret?"

[Before you grab your torches and pitchforks, I know the anime revealed that APH Seychelles is pretty bad at keeping secrets, and this may prove to be true in this fic as well later on... 😉 But anyways, I'm posting two chapters today because I feel like this one's a little short. Thanks for reading 💕 ]
