"Wake up, boys! We're going out for breakfast!" Dad shouted from Alfred and Matthew's bedroom door.
Alfred was quick to bolt up out of bed and get dressed. When is he not whenever food's involved? However, this was not the case for his brother.
Matthew groaned feeling a pounding headache that wasn't there the night before. Kuma had left his bed a while ago, so he wasn't sure if he could blame his sudden illness on a dog allergy.
"Mattie, dude! What are you waiting for!? They're taking us out to eat! Stop being such a slowpoke so we can bust this joint!"
"Al... Please stop screaming..." Matthew pleaded in a raspy voice. He slowly got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. Though the moment he opened the toilet seat, he fell to his knees and released all the contents of his stomach into it.
"Jesus Mattie, are you okay?" Alfred gasped as he ran in to check on his brother.
Matthew shook his head and flushed the toilet. He washed his hands then headed back to bed. Alfred walked up to him and felt his forehead. "Damn dude, you're on fire... DAAAAD! MATTIE THREW UP AND NOW HIS FACE IS BURNING!" he shouted.
"Al... My head..."
"Oops, sorry... MATTIE ALSO SAYS HE'S GOT A HEADACHE!"
Matthew groaned as his two parents entered the room. Papa walked over to him and did the same thing that Alfred had done and sighed. "Merde... I told you we should've gotten their flu shots sooner!"
"Oh please, if he threw up it's not the flu. Trust me."
Papa frowned and looked down at Matthew. "Are you alright, mon ange? Arthur, go grab him a Tylenol and a wet rag."
Dad nodded and ran downstairs. Papa hummed and moved the hair out of Matthews face. "I guess there goes that fancy restaurant... Alfred do you have any friends that you think would accompany you this early? The reservation was for five people."
"Uhhh, maybe Toris? Not sure bout anyone else."
"Papa... You can still go... I'll be fine here on my own. I swear..."
"Are you sure? I'd hate to leave you alone like this..."
"Yes, Papa I'm sure."
"Hmm... Alright."
Dad walked back into the room and gave Matthew the Tylenol, placing the wet rag on top of his head. Before the tween could fall asleep, he heard Papa whisper, "Je t'aime mon ange." and place a kiss atop his head.
Not long after, Matthew was awoken to a wet feeling on his face. And it wasn't from the rag.
"Oh! Kuma! I was wondering where you went this morning. Dad or Papa didn't see you, right?"
"No. But it was a pain hiding from them. Now that you're awake, can you get me some food? I'm pretty hungry, eh."
Matthew smiled and nodded as the dog stopped licking him. He felt much better than he did earlier. It was probably due to the Tylenol. Or maybe the illness was just (non-pregnancy related) morning sickness. He used to get it all the time when he was younger.
"I don't really have much for you since we've never had a pet before, so what would you like?"
"Salmon, like the one from yesterday."
"Okay let me check." Matthew went into the freezer and looked through their fish drawer. "Hmm... Looks like that was the last of it. But we do have some mackerel."
