April 20, 2015.
It was already five years ago but everything is crystal clear on her mind.
She stood beside her and smiled on her behalf. The folder on her hands were the reports for the whole year performance of the company, she was just twenty years old and none of these make sense to her. So her sister, Deborah, was the one who holds all the success and, at the same time, problems of the company.
For an owner of an insurance company with a lot of credits and liabilities, she was too young to be the CEO. Their parents just died of an accident, so there was no choice but for her to handle it all.
Meanwhile, Rebecca was just there to please the whole company with her wit and beauty, since she's too young to have a position.
The whole meeting room was field with the aroma of mint, but it does not appeal to the chairmans and shareholders, "Miss, your parents did not leave a lot of money to pay all of those people who died last week and almost all of the other companies under us wants to get out of the insurance because of fear."
Deborah smiled, ignoring the whines of the bald man, "We should accept the loans that the banks are offering to us. Maybe if we can use those money first to pay the people we owe, then we could make an advertisement that could widen our bracket, right? That way we could earn more, and we could, hopefully, pay the banks soon."
They all nodded, agreeing to what she proposed, Becca smiled and put her hand on her shoulder. Deborah grabbed her sisters hand and squeezed it, mouthing thank you for the advice she gave.
That day ended with everyone on Deborah's favor, the siblings walked to their car smiling and enjoyed the rest of the drive talking with their bodyguard and driver.
Their bond was unbreakable, though they do have three years apart, they do feel like they are twins.
Until that very night, Becca remembered sleeping on the couch because she still have to study for her entrance exam but at that moment, she was on the ground. She opened her eyes, lamp on her sisters room started flickering and the mirror on her cabinet was shattered.
She looked at her hand, and there were blood on her chest, neck and her face, but she was not hurt. A pool of blood started forming on her foot—she screamed when she saw a body laying dead on the ground. Her face was destroyed with stab wounds, almost unrecognizable. Her chest, all have blood on it, together with her sister's pajama.
On Becca's hand was a knife full of blood.
She remembered how she cried and weeped in front of the detective that she was not the one who killed her, but he did not listened. Everyone in the court, called her a murderer and a psychopath, they thought that the small girl was jealous of her sister having all these wealth, while she stand beside her and just smile.
All of the people at the court told her one thing, that she will be imprisoned and her parent's company would fall.
"Can you tell me who is this?" the detective talked to her, not on interrogation room but on her cell, where no one was listening.
He showed her a photo of a man, standing on one corner of a street looking at her sister. "I don't know."
"Kid, this man is wanted for murder. If he is following your sister, we might get you out of here." those are the last words she heard from him, he did not came back with an answer.
