THAT DAY WAS CERTAINLY ONE OF AMANDA'S BEST.

Of course, she didn't have many good days since the death of her mother. As seen and stated, her life had been abysmal and nothing short of devastating for an extremely long time; so much so that she could hardly remember what it felt like to be in a lively and colourful home. Except from when she stepped foot into the Uris household and the warmth of such a family with organisation and love had bled into her veins and ignited hope in her heart, even when she knew she should have none.

A part of her still held some sort of resistance towards the idea of having friends, especially ones that hadn't been so open to her arrival in the first place, but after today...after everything she had done. The parade, the Capitol, beating the high score on Pac Man, taking group photos in a booth and riding home with one another until Amanda broke off to cycle down roads of empty space and fields; it had been, in Amanda's terms, a good day.

Deep down she knew her resistance was only for the fact that she still feels as though not everyone in the group was happy having her around. But none of them had proved any evidence for such a thing. She and Bill didn't speak much, but he sends her reassuring smiles from time to time; Beverly walks and talks with Amanda as much as she can, her beauty sending delightful thrills through Amanda whenever she smiled at her.

Richie had adapted her into his endless joking, no longer making fun of her because she's Henry's sister but simply because she was a friend. Mike, even newer to the group than she was, seemed to enjoy talking to her too. Eddie and Ben the same. Even though Ben seemed to be preoccupied with Beverly most of the time, Eddie was bright and talkative with the sibling of his bully. The one Amanda spoke to the most though was Stanley, whether that be because she had been into his house before or just because they clicked. Either way...he was who she gravitated to.

It was almost laughable since he had been the coldest upon her first arrival. But after Pac Man earlier that day, two of them had found conversation a lot easier, he even rode with her until the end of her street where she had instructed him to leave her.

As much fun as she had, she would not subject anyone to driving up the empty country path that she rode down every day. Especially not when it led to hell on earth, normally bubbling with angry hellfire but after her day, seemed to not look so bad when she walked through the front door to find an empty house. Henry was out somewhere like he had been earlier and her father was still at work.

Bounding into the house, Amanda grinned as she shut the door behind her and went straight to her room, tossing a backpack upon her soft mattress. That had been the one Stanley had been carrying around all day, filled with the clothes that Amanda had left at his house the previous day, except now they had been washed and dried; they smelt like flowers, like Stanley's mothers bedsheets. Fresh.
